I'd love to see the plan you think would allow for this. No cheating; you have to explain how the NCAA (in which every university gets an equal vote) is going to create an inequitable playoff system that would give power schools a much greater share of postseason revenues.
Not a problem at all... Go back to the old Bowl system with New Years Day being the end of the Bowl Season. Make those games meaningful again by using them to help determine the top four teams in the country. This would strengthen the TV ratings and support solid revenue from the networks and advertisers, and the top conferences would still get their lions share of the revenue. The NCAA doesn't control Bowl games, so there is no need to make them equaitable. After New Years, take the four best teams (I frankly don't care how they are picked, because it would have to be more fair and better than the current way that only two teams make it) and have a playoff... creating three big events that the NCAA owns and sells. The money generated for those games would be far greater than the single game that now exists, and would have to be dished out on a more equitable basis to all the conferences, but with the involved teams/conferences still getting a larger share of the pie.

By making the current Bowl system more relevent and worth more money, and by having additional playoff games (three is better than one), there would be FAR MORE money.

What most people ignore right now is the declining ratings of New Years day games. Future TV deals will take that into account.
The trick is to make the big bowl games relevent again.

Jesus titty ****ing Christ, please God, no. I'll take Brady Hoke 1,000 times before Les Miles, especially when we're already on probation. That's just an invitation to complete program implosion.

          • And Pitt puts the beat down on Kentucky even with all the crazy coach stuff going on. Great performance by them.

              • And that is why we need to adopt the Guynemer playoffs.

Seriously, there are multiple different formats that could be adopted; "playoffs" doesn't automatically equal the NFL's stupid system.

                  • Les Miles has said he's staying at LSU. And why not, with Zach Mettenberger as quarterback, he's likely to be playing for a national championship (assuming Mettenberger can stop grabbing womens asses).

                            • Fun fact: Les Miles has won more national championships (1) in the last 50 years than Michigan (.5) has.
