Just to clarify for everyone: When posting a pick, in general, "a card laid is a card played." In this case, Slowwy posted this morning on Ben's behalf off a PM list from last night, and Mr Kenobi didn't have a chance to for input before it happened. But if (for example) I had taken Posluszny before Ben woke up, it would have been "too bad you weren't more specific."

Umm, I'm not sure I agree with changing a non-BAPAY this far downstream - while obviously you didn't want collie or you'd change him now, four picks later is sort of silly to allow a change.

Hmm: I've now seen Ben's note to Sloww, and it's crystal clear on taking a WR5 with the 2nd (12.01) pick. Meaning: There was a separate Round 12 list, and there were no defenders on it.

Ben -- The evidence is actually pretty clear. Would you be a good sport and go back to the Collie pick?

JRabbit, that list was sent about 12 picks out from mine.

I had two lists for the 11th pick, 4 LBs and 4 DLs. I put that many on to guarantee that I would get a defender. Specified preference for LB with DL only if all LBs were already taken.

I expected that one would fall to me, and then I'd get Collie.

I did not expect two of the four to fall to me. I should have put on the list that both picks were to go to LB if there were 2 of 4 available, but whatever.

Anyways, far as I see it, one, my turn to pick came up at 930am. Two, I changed the pick at 1115am, well before even a BAPAY would have been assigned.

Would you prefer that I didn't send a list and waited until 1115? You guys would have been held up nearly 2 hours.

I log on, and see that yes, it has actually came to me this morning, after waiting all evening yesterday.

Zopp picked, Slowwy picked. I noticed I got Collie and that Posluszny wasn't picked. Changed the pick. Noticed that JR had posted while I was changing the pick, so I change the post to include his pick.

So two picks, and remember I have to do 2 picks in a row. I don't think that's at all unreasonable.

Here's the rub: Your PM to Sloww states specifically that you wanted a WR5 with the 12th round pick, and you had ONLY receivers in your list. There is nothing in your PM that indicates any possibility that you would take defenders with both picks.

And for the record, I have no problem with "holding things up" -- i.e., using your allotted time. Same as anyone else. You certainly could have told Sloww last night to hold off on your picks, or that the list was only good for Sat. night, if you had doubts. "If it goes to Sunday morning, let me make my own picks."

Obviously, since no one is claiming they wanted either of these players, it's just not that big a deal. But in the spirit of good sportsmanship, I'd prefer seeing the pick revert to the documented instructions. I've worked pretty hard to develop draft rules that are firm and without exception. Allowing an exception sets precedent that will allow future arguments. I'm appealing to your sense of fair play here, Ben.

Third-party opinions are always welcome. Meanwhile, the clock is running on Berz.

If you want something to be 'by the book', put it in the damn book in the first place.

Even BAPAYed players get 24 hours, I don't see why you are *****ing about a pick changed in less than 2.

So if you had doubts about your list, the timeline suggests you had ample opportunity to change. Or to just say, "I'm back; ignore my list." No one is saying you broke a rule. But no one else has (EVER) gone back to change a PM pick posted in good faith.

It is assumed that BAPAYed players are unavailable for reasons beyond their control. Similarly, it is assumed that people who leave a list via are serious about their selections and willing to live with whatever outcome results.
