Peyton Manning getting injured? Yeah. I'd believe that will ever happen. The fact is, 3 QB's per team in a 14 team league is an impossibility.
MRT, LaGarrette Blount is supposed to be a top RB going forward. Why in god's name would I trade him for a QB who 1) isn't good enough to displace Brett Favre from my starter's spot (Favre just had a 40 point game, by the way) and 2) won't even be starting once Alex Smith is healthy.

AZ had a negative day as well. Really what you should be pointing to is that AZ has had their bye and OAK's bye is this week so on average, AZ is more effective. However, regardless the difference between them is negligible. They're both questionable defensive plays because they're teams that have a history of giving up a lot of points (though OAK looks like they're changing that) that just happen to have dominating performances and score touchdowns. More touchdowns given up mean more return yardage and the possibility for scores. Being down makes their defenses more aggressive in forcing turnovers. They're similar enough it's not worth the change.
Regardless, there's no way in hell AZ defense and a backup QB turned starter due to injury with the real starter expected to return in two weeks is equal in value to Blount who I honestly think will be a top 10 RB in the second half of the season. If you were offering them for, I don't know, James Jones or Ajirotutu maybe, yeah, that MIGHT be legit but Troy Smith's status as a backup QB in the NFL means what the hell do I want him on my roster for? I have Favre's handcuff, Tarvaris Jackson, and since Jackson and Troy Smith are like practically the same guy, what's the point of having the guy who will probably be back on the bench soon enough.
And you're right that I was very high on AZ defense and I'm high on Troy Smith as an NFL player (though not necessarily as a fantasy player) but neither of them are worth parting with a guy who I had stashed on my roster weeks before his breakout and who I have been watching for a while; a guy who I believe will be a top RB. Jesus. A no question weekly must-start fantasy RB for a QB that probably shouldn't be rostered and a defense?! Holy ****, MRT!
