I think that looks pretty good.

McNabb's teams were never, never known for their rushing game, except to set up the pass.
Flutie better than Elway clearly makes you MORE delusional.

Really? In his years as a starter (2001-05), Green put it in the air over 500 times every year but one, averaging 32.24 attempts per game during that time. He had three 4000-yd seasons.

As for being a "successful team built on this model," KC went 44-36 and made the playoffs once (0-1) during that span.

So Ben, your theory qualitifes as epic fail on both counts:
          1. Trent Green was, in fact, a classic NFL passing QB.
          2. KC was not particularly successful with him at the helm.

Better examples of "game manager" QBs who were successful? There are plenty. How about these Super Bowl winners:
          Bob Griese, Dolphins
          Trent Dilfer, Ravens
          Brad Johnson, Buccaneers

In terms of success, I would suggest Griese as the ultimate NFL game manager on a rushing/defense based team.

          Oh and BTW, further errata:
          1. Andy Reid uses the pass to set up the run, not vice versa.
          2. It's "Tarvaris."

So wrong in every fathomable way!

Oh and Trent Green is a human, not a team, so he can't be the best example of a successful team built on that model.

Maybe he meant Gang Green? I mean the Jets with Pennington had a game manager type of QB and Sanchez will likely be a game manager this year. He must have meant Gang Green. Because Trent Green aired it the hell out in Kansas City... I remember, it was St. Louis and Kansas City who were the two Missouri teams that lacked defense but could rack up the yardage through the air.

I would guess Ben means the quarterback that led BAL to the superbowl in 2001. He just has trouble with those names.

Hmm, obviously JR and I think too much alike. We differ on precisely two playoff teams, one of those being the Bears which admittedly is a homer pick for me.

By the way, it's not a total homer pick:

No way are the Bears beating out the Vikings for a wildcard spot. The Vikes would have to completely implode for that to happen.

I'm usually the one who makes embarrassingly "sweet home Chicago" picks. But considering how well that's worked out the past few years, I decided it was time to go the other way. I'd be thrilled to be wrong.
