The sad thing Ben is "Flubber as an OIlers fan" is about as true/accurate as most of your assertions
I'm well aware that Joncha is the only other Canucks fan and I should think I would be aware of any others on Poly.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

I've always been a Canucks fan. I can't imagine - nor do I care - why Ben seems to think he should know that, but clearly he doesn't."The French caused the war [Persian Gulf war, 1991]" - Ned

Its possible I guess since there were a few folks that were disappointing and simply avoiding that crushing slump wopuld have been enough to sneak into the playoffs.
But GV -- haven't you heard?? I'm an Oilers fan
Not that it really mattered until this silly "who's fans did best" discussion.Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will, as it did Obi Wan's apprentice.

The fact that you are a Flames fan matters to me only to the extent you may be inclined to have knowledge about and and a desire to discuss the Flames.
Only Ben seemed to think it was relevant to anything else .
My fan affliliation on the other hand is frequently expressed. If it was anyone but ben saying I was a fan of the Oil I would have assumed an attempt to yank my chain but with Ben I simply put it down to stupidityYou don't get to 300 losses without being a pretty exceptional goaltender.-- Ben Kenobi speaking of Roberto Luongo

The Hawks may just march the Stanley Cup down the street for Chicago's Pride Parade. That'd be pretty cool: http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puc...medium=twitter"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

It's official -- the Blackhawks have accepted the invitation tendered them by the Chicago Gay Hockey Association. The team will fly the Cup back 15 hours early from the NHL draft the night before, and will be represented in the parade by defenseman Brent Sopel (a Calgary native BTW) and team president John McDonough.
Sopel -- decidely not gay -- volunteered to represent the players. From the Chicago Sun-Times:
"I am honored to do it," said Sopel, who will be accompanied by wife, Kelly, and his four kids, Jacob, 12, Lyla, 8, Jayla, 6, and Paul, 20, whom they adopted three years ago after Paul's parents died within six months of each other.
Also:
Sopel also is marching in honor of Brendan Burke, the son of Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brian Burke, who was killed in a car accident two months after coming out late last year.
"When Brendan came out, Brian stood by him, and his whole family stood by him, like every family should," said Sopel. "We teach our kids about accepting everybody. Tolerate everybody, to understand where everyone is coming from."
Pretty cool, Brent.

This, seriously, is ****ing AWESOME.
As a diehard Red Wings fan from birth (literally; my father went to a Wings-Leafs game the night I was born), I've always regarded the Blackhawks as our main historical rival, albeit a (relatively) friendly rival. This elevates my respect for the Hawks organization to heights that, a few years ago, seemed ludicrous.
I'm pretty sure that, from this day forth, I shall root for the Hawks, except when they are playing Wings.
