Best part is at the end...parents are watching the end of a MTL-PIT game where Josh Gorges is named one of the stars of the game, and Don Cherry starts gushing about how well he played and even said he should be captain of the team. The parents teared up, so proud.

I'm really loving how Burrows went on his tirade earlier this season. As I predicted, it's burning him.

Officiating has been worse in this game than any other this series, too.

If this series goes to 7 games I think they should bring in Stephane Auger, just to make sure things are done fairly

(note: I believe, and I am hoping someone can confirm this if true, that Stephane Auger hasn't done a game in the playoffs....is that correct? and if it is, does it give some credence to Burrows claim that he was a biased referree that told him before the start of that game in January that he was going to get his revenge?)

For the record: Even if Burrows was 100% correct in everything he said about Auger, I find it hillarious that they are now complaining about their team being unfairly officiated (which I don't beleive), karma is a *****

Not all refs work the playoffs...only half of them do.

I get that, with the regular season having 30 teams playing in 30 different cities, and the playoffs having 16 in 16, it only makes sense you don't need all the referrees, and I beleive the NHL "rewards" it's top referrees by giving them games later in the playoffs (which only makes sense, they want their top staff working the most important games).

But my question is more: if Stephane Auger isn't working at all in the playoffs, is it because he is not considered one of the top half of the referrees or because the NHL doesn't want to take the chance of a referree with a reputation tainted referreeing in the playoffs and potentially tainting the playoffs as well?

It's been widely known (and mentioned by Bob McKenzie) that Auger isn't and never has been rated a top ref, he's worked very few playoff games in his entire career.

He's only reffed 10 playoff games, ever.

He's only done 10 playoff games in his career (source is wiki).

From what I've read he has never been counted in the top half of NHL officials.

Hurts that Salo went down, and rather unsurprised to see that Byfuglien didn't get 4 minutes for cutting open SOB, but that's been par for the course with the officiating.

Hopefully Salo can be back for game 7. Back to Van for game 6 again, would be great to see the Canucks pull out another win and force game 7. Keep out of the penalty box, and the Canucks will win, simple as that.

You'd be surprised. The only really 'supportive' media here is the radio. The Province and the Sun are at best neutral, and at worst, doing their best to tear at the team.

It is a good sign that you are unsurprised. It indicates you may be aware that high-sticking does not apply as a penalty when it is the result of follow-through on a shot.

People need to watch their damn sticks. If Hank Sedin had cut someone, I'd figure it was a guaranteed 4 minute penalty for 'drawing blood', none of this 'follow through' bull****.

Byfuglien cut SOB right between the eyes. That's a very dirty and dangerous play.
