Though in 1984, it was a 7 game series. Easier to come back in a longer series. Falling behind in a 5 game one is brutal.
And Rays look like they are going to go down 2 games to 0

I think the winner in the A.L. takes it this year. The Rangers had a harder time with the Rays this year than the aging Yankees.

Watching Phil Hughes, who I've been following since he was in AA, dominate for 7 innings in a playoff game was a thing of beauty. Damn, that felt good.
Well, I was wrong regarding the Yankees pitching. Pettitte came up huge, showing his injuries are not an issue. Hughes, I think, really benifitted from the extra rest. The O did its usual thing, and the D was solid. The Twins OF defense did not distinguish itself, which I expected. That's about the only thing I got right. Hey, I'll take it
Meanwhile, Rangers-Rays goes 5.
What is up with the ALCS starting on Friday? The latest the D-series could have gone is Tuesday. Minimum of 2 days off between. WTF?
