I'd start Manningham, not sure over whom, but he's a good bet to score this week. Willie Parker is also very tempting as long as he's healthy, if Mendenhall is out; if he's not healthy, and it's a PPR league, Moore is a good start. Either way, PIT RBs will do very, very well this week.

I don't get return yards unless they score, which Knox has this year. It is not a PPR league, only yardage once you hit 65 and TDs.

Thanks for the advice. I'm still at odds with Manningham and Parker.

If it's not PPR, then don't start Mason. He's a PPR specialist, relatively low yardage per reception usually. Though MIN's pass defense is not great, so who knows. But he's only been over 65 yards 2 times in 5 games, so...

Stick with Forte and Cadillac for RB.

With no PPR, it's TD+yardage driven. At WR from this group:

WR (start 3): Tory Holt, Mario Manningham, Dwayne Bowe, Derrick Mason, Johnny Knox

I'd go with Bowe, Manningham and a coin flip between Knox and Holt. Theose two are feast or famine in your format. I'd probably go with Knox, but I'm a Bears fan.

I'd say holt between the two, as JAC has weaker opposition, but who knows.

I'm fairly confident that some RB from PIT will top 100 yards and score at least once. I think it's just a matter of which.

Activist Commissioner Intervention

OK, gang, it's time to do something about DOY. He's been around Poly (several posts this week, most recent Thursday) but hasn't touched his team in three weeks. His team is still set up for a Bye week, with his top draft choices (Turner, SSmith, Gonzo) on the bench. Plus he's got a Bye week DL slotted.

It seems pretty clear he is MIA.

Unless there are strenuous objections, I'm planning to set his lineup (top projected points; no "managing") shortly before the games start today.

PMs have been sent to DOY and Berz (his opponent).

I hope there are no objections. But if so, let's hear them now!

Why would you set his lineup? I've played him already, but I'm against it.
What I'm more inclined to be for is remembering and barring him from further competition in the future.

I'm more in favor of letting him idle. Covering for one week is okay, sometimes people forget, but 3 weeks, he is not doing his own at this point.

You always have no shows in these types of leagues. I respect your concern, but you are the first commish that I've seen want to do this.

Here's my thought, can we find another player willing to take his team over? That way we get win/win. We get another active team in the league, and we don't have to rely on the commish managing his team.

Here's the thing -- His Bye week subs were put in the lineup by me in Week 4. I feel bad about that -- especially because I didn't swap them back out last week.

You always have no shows in these types of leagues. I respect your concern, but you are the first commish that I've seen want to do this.

There were no such teams last year. And putting his worst lineup on the field each week is pretty stupid IMO. The fact that no other commish here has done anything more than enter the rosters after the draft is not my concern.

I agree that if he's not going to manage the team, it would be good to find someone to handle it going forward. But that's not the question this morning.

Yeah, getting another player is the best option.

I meant internet leagues in general, at least the ones that I have been in. After some time the basement dwellers stop playing. Poly has been an exception to that rule.

If you are looking for guidance, put back in what he had before.

I think that since it's a play everyone once league, that you do less harm leaving him alone at this point... he's 0 for anyway, so just let that continue, everyone gets one free win give or take. Perhaps return him to the non-bye-week subs point, but nothing else.

That's what I'm leaning towards. No roster moves, just put in his starters.

Then, if Duke doesn't respond, find someone to take over the rest of the way.
