God, this kinda **** is exactly why I disagree with so many of the rankings so early. Ole Miss should NEVER HAVE BEEN RANKED #4! Because they got beat by South Carolina now South Carolina is going to be move to the top 25 if not top 15. This is bull****. Anyone with half a ****ing brain knew Ole Miss was over rated. What ****ing purpose did putting them at #4 serve?

It is really too bad that Spurrier's obvious failure at U of Sucking gameCocks is somewhat vindicated by his victory over a school that had as much business in the top 5 as South Florida did a few years back. The rankings are all screwed up, but sadly, we only have that to go on...

Ole Miss was slightly overrated in the polls but they've been a tough team to beat the last few years and look to be the same this year. Any team can have a bad day on the road, just look at USC (who are always overated IMO but are certainly a better team than Washington).

Pollsters hear too much of the hype, and when every talking head is talking about how deep the SEC is than of course you will get dogs like Ole Miss in the top 5.

This is the problem with preseason rankings. People are just ****ing guessing, based on hunches. Ole Miss was no better nor worse a guess than anyone else; but, as a result of their top 5 (!) ranking, the rest of the teams are getting screwed.

Will South Carolina be rated above Ole Miss in the next poll? After all, their only loss was to a top 25 school, and they have the same record; Ole Miss has beaten no one of any note. I shant be holding my breath.

I think people have too short memories. Ole Miss was the only team to beat Florida last season and took apart Texas Tech in their Bowl Game as parts of a very, very good 2nd half of last season. It isn't like this team came out of nowhere.

The only wins in the 2nd half of the season that meant anything at all were LSU and Texas Tech. The rest were tomato cans.

It isn't like the team came out of nowhere, but top 5? They should have to earn their way into the top 5, not be there because of their 9-4 season and bowl game win last year.
