    Sundin's good, but he's not a differencemaker. Especially at his age and especially after the long layoff he's had.

    Just ask the Leafs how many cups he's won them.

    To be honest, I used to have tremendous respect for the guy. Then he refused to be traded last year to help the Leafs fill their prospects cupboard, then he did this 6-months "I don't know what to do" bull**** that pissed everyone off.

    He'll make Vancouver better, but Vancouver just doesn't have the forward corps to make a run.

    To be honest, any formula that involves the Sedins in a recipe for playoff success is deeply flawed. Fun playoff stats:

    H Sedin: 20 pts in 43 games
    D Sedin: 18 pts in 43 games. They vanish whenever they need to man up and deliver.

    BTW: Salo is injured...again.

      He will be the starting first line centre for the Canucks.

      Just ask the Leafs how many cups he's won them.
      He's never had the supporting cast.

      He'll make Vancouver better, but Vancouver just doesn't have the forward corps to make a run.
      The Canucks, with their kids, without Luongo and with their defense are still good enough for first in their division.

      Add Sundin, and they have a solid, but not spectacular forward corps.

      To be honest, any formula that involves the Sedins in a recipe for playoff success is deeply flawed.
      They are one of the best second lines around.

      BTW: Salo is injured...again.
      Salo isn't the be all or end all of the Canuck's defense.

              That's one of the weaker first two lines in the league as a whole. But you can continue to pretend like it's the best second line if that's how you want to spin it (even that is not true).

                Raymond: 15 pts
                Sundin: 33 pts (generously projected assuming he scores at the same rate as last year...which probably isn't going to happen with worse-quality linemates this year and the fact that he missed half the season)
                Demitra: 18pts

                Total: 66 pts

                Second line:
                D Sedin: 32 pts
                H Sedin: 28 pts
                Hansen: 16 pts

                Total: 76 pts

                So while you may have a good "second line", it's even better than your first. Which is pathetic, Ben.

                  Mats Sundin -- 78
                  Pavol Demitra -- 67
                  Mason Raymond -- 38

                  Daniel Sedin -- 82
                  Henrik Sedin -- 73
                  Jannik Hansen -- 47

                  Those aren't bad lines at all.

                  Compare then with Calgary:

                  Iginla -- 94
                  Cammellari -- 66
                  Langkow -- 57

                  Calgary has a better first line.

                  Bertuzzi -- 67
                  Conroy -- 44
                  Moss -- 39

                  Second line for Vancouver is much better.

                  Overall, Vancouver is 18 points ahead of Calgary.

                    WTF does your "second line" have more points than your first?

                    You can't compare last season's results. Demitra and Sundin Bertuzzi played with different people on different teams with different ideologies. Sundin's spent the last 6 months masturbating to Swedish porn in Sweden and not playing hockey. Demitra is old and injury prone.

                    The simple fact is your "second line" is actually your first. If you're arguing Vancouver has more capable offensive forwards than Calgary, you're wrong. Vancouver has been overperforming lately, but there's no ****ing way in hell they are a cup contender nor are they offensively powerful (or even close to being the "top in the league", first line or second line...)

                    Not to mention Bertuzzi and Cammalleri are both on pace for better seasons than last (which are the points you use), and Moss isn't a second line guy at all...you've no ****ing idea what's going on.

                        You don't know **** all about hockey. It's astounding. Points, the Sedin line is first...TOI, the Sedin line is first.

                        The Sedins have the most TOI for forwards on the Canucks.

                        H Sedin: 19:47 TOI/g
                        D Sedin: 19:20 TOI/g
                        Kesler: 18:47 TOI/g

                        These are first line minutes, and this is even more pronounced because the Sedin's don't PK. Their EV TOI is even more separated from the rest of the Canucks:
                        H Sedin: 14:19 EV TOI/g
                        D Sedin: 14:16 EV TOI/g
                        Kesler: 13:02 EV TOI/g




                        They have a way better forward package then Calgary.

                                As predicted...

                                Sundin is playing on the 2nd line, not the 1st.

                                Raymond - Sundin - Wellwood.

                                Yup...the league is pretty scared.

                                I love how 2/3 of the line were Leafs last year. That's the key to victory.

                                Meanwhile the Flames have extended their lead on Vancouver as first in the division, and with a couple games in hand also.
