For the most part, both teams were comically inept, but Yale was more so. Harvard 10, Yale 0. It was freezing cold, to the point that people in the stands were basically bundling together for warmth inside blankets and stuff.

Yale's offense was horrid and couldn't do anything. Their blitz protection literally was nonexistent, and their run plays were predictable, as usual. Harvard's offense was stopped pretty soundly too, but it made three or four decent drives.

The most amusing thing was watching the atrocious special teams play, starting with the opening kickoff, where the two Harvard return men ran into each other and fell down. The special teams units finished with three missed field goals, two muffed returns, one eight-yard punt, and a partridge in a pear tree.

It wasn't the best of games.
Let Harvard have its sports and academics. Yale will always be known for its gentlemanly club life.

              • Cambridge is lovely. Better than New Haven and Manhattan put together.

                • AUSTIN, Texas -- University of Texas junior quarterback Colt McCoy said that he will test the NFL waters after the season, but will retain his eligibility to play one more year for the Longhorns.

McCoy, after the Longhorns finished off a 49-9 win against Texas A&M on Thursday, told reporters that he will file paperwork to receive feedback from an NFL advisory committee about his draft prospects. McCoy said he plans to return to Texas, but if he were rated a first- or second-round draft pick, he could change his mind.

"I think it would be foolish not to look at it like that," McCoy said, according to the Dallas Morning News. "But at the same time, I want to play four years here. Not very many people have had the opportunity to do that. That's something that's real special to me and important to me."

Texas coach Mack Brown also will be part of the decision-making process. He has encouraged his players to look at their NFL prospects in the past.

"You have to weigh everything," McCoy said. "You have to weigh coming back for your senior year and playing with your teammates and your coach and your best friends. I think that's something that's really hard."

Earlier this year, McCoy had said he planned to play four years at Texas.

"I've been blessed to be able to play here," McCoy told The Sporting News in October. "Not very many people get to [start] here for four years, so what an opportunity."

                  • In the early games, GTech knocks off Georgia in a shootout 45-42. Suffice to say, this year was a BIG disappointment for Georgia, who thought they'd be competing for a national championships a few months ago.

Kansas also beats Missouri in a barnburner 40-37! So two big upsets in the rivalry games this morning.

Virginia Tech knocks off Virginia winning the ACC Coastal.

And damn Florida is looking good, even in the muck, against FSU!

Baylor now up 28-21 driving late in the third.

If Baylor pulls the upset, Oklahoma is officially ****ed. Their performance against Oklahoma State & the subsequent BCS rankings would no longer matter, because Tech would be out of the picture and Texas's win in the Red River would rule over all (and it'd be impossible to deny Texas the national title shot if they beat Missouri as they should).

                            Oklahoma won't pass Texas.

                              • Barring a miracle, it looks like Tech will escape from this one.

Now let's hope that the Sooners do something similar against Oklahoma State so that the right team (Texas) gets the Big 12 title shot.
