So I read today that there have been more non-BCS teams ranked in the top 25 this year than in any other year in the BCS era, and I got to wondering how the top "mid-major" conference (the Mountain West) has fared against the BCS schools.

vs. ACC: 0-0
vs. Big East: 0-0
vs. Big Ten: 1-0
vs. Big Twelve: 1-3
vs. Pac Ten: 6-1
vs. SEC: 1-0
vs. Notre Dame: 0-1


Total Mountain West record against BCS schools?

9-5!


So, if Utah manages to win their last two games and go unbeaten... why shouldn't they get a shot at the whole enchilada? (For the record, Utah accounts for two of those wins, at Michigan and vs. Oregon State, the only team to beat USC...)

Of course one reason may be that there may be two other undefeated teams from traditional BCS conferences (though Alabama and Penn State are in dog fights right now)

EDIT: You know what'll be a *****? If TT loses tonight (and I don't think they will), you know those idiot pollsters will drop them below Texas.

I'm surprised that they did the right thing this week; but you're also right, TT won't lose. 500 yards passing, easily.
