Unfortunately the dodgers know to keep pitching Soriano out of the strike zone until he proves that he won't swing at them. The cubs did have 9 hits, so it wasn't totally lack of hitting, they just didn't group them right.

Meh, you can thank Ozzie for that win. Uribe hitting with the bases loaded and one out, with Swisher on the bench? Give me a break...

No guarantees there. Swish has been going very poorly of late. You can tell it's in his head, too, cuz he's declared an interview blackout, and he's never met a microphone he didn't like.

But I agree: in the 9-hole, a PH for a new pitcher seems like a slam-dunk decision.

Still, this was Vazquez's loss all the way.

You know Uribe is the third baseman, right? (Not that he'd be above the average for a Cubs pitcher, or anything, but still.) I put Swish in there, or Fields, or, heck, Jerry Owens... Uribe just doesn't do well with fireballers like that. He's more of a mistake hitter (and a good mistake hitter, really), but a 95+ fastball isn't a mistake pitch anywhere on the plate.

Hmm, upon rereading your post you probably meant "A PH in order to hit the replacement pitcher". The way I read it, you were suggesting a PH for the pitcher spot. Blame Rah for making me work too long...

"...a PH to face a new pitcher..." would have been clearer.
