Yet, Cujo is getting the start tonight. Yelle and Conroy are also sitting.

Well Conroy is injured and Yelle is a non-factor in most games so giving someone else a whirl is not a bad idea

might be how I might stack them up--I see Lombardi playing with more fire lately so I would elevate him to the second line

I would give Huselius a chance as a second liner but if his effort level does not improve I could see demoting him to the pressbox and dressing Godard, Smith or Yelle.

I actually don't think my lineup will be used since I'm guessing Keenan will put Conroy back among the top 2 lines and that Yelle might be in the lineup somewhere.

Ya they should have wore their tux's and everything-- Most would not have even gotten them smudged

It was nice to see the Flames win but it was a no-hitter. Vancouver had obviously checked out already and Calgary was just trying to get in a little practice

Habs crowned Eastern Conference champs

The Canadiens this afternoon were crowned champions of the NHL's Eastern Conference, without even lacing up their skates.

The Habs claim No. 1 overall in the conference thanks to Philadelphia's 2-0 home-ice victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins, who chose to rest superstar Sidney Crosby in advance of the playoffs.

Montreal finishes the regular season with 104 points, two more than the Penguins. The Flyers' win has them vault over No. 7 Boston, pushing the Bruins into eighth and a first-round playoff date with the Canadiens.

I don't know, and I don't frankly care. I would have taken 8th in the east over the much predicted 14th.

edit: Boston won the conference in 2001-2002 with 101 points.

No thanks-- I would have preferred to clinch two weeks ago

But lots of teams that had been knocked out far earlier continued to actually play their games--Maybe Vancouver would have felt obligated to play harder if Calgary still had a playoff spot on the line but felt it was ok to have a non-game when there was nothing really on the line

We've been cheapshotted numerous times in games with nothing to play.

I guess what I'm trying to say is don't complain. It would have been awesome for it to come down to the very last game of the season to play for all the marbles and we were one goal away from doing so.

Both teams coasted in.

It was very strange.

However, both teams were trying to pump up key players. Calgary for Iggy's 50 and Vancouver for Linden and Naslund to have a good final game.
