In 1984 the Tigers were 18-2 in April (and one of their 2 losses was a 19 inning game). That year they pretty much won it in April. Or at least in May when they were 35-5. But that was a very special year.Originally posted by -Jrabbit

I'll tell you true. Ballpark in Arlington is outstanding, but they need to put a retractable roof on it. There's no home field advantage when it's 105 degrees and 80% humidity. I'm worried. Not b/c the Yanks are 4-4. That's fine. Jeter and Posada are both hurt. That's not fine. The team has some depth, but if Posada misses any serious time, they're in deep ****. Jeter should hopefully be back soon.

Yanks 5-5 now. Still not really hitting. Hitting a coupla HRs off Hideo Nomo (!!) doesn't really count. Pitching remains pretty good.
Wang v. Buccholz. Hmm. I guess I like that matchup.
Mussina v. Beckett. Um, eek.
Hughes v. Matsuzaka. Love Phil and all, but advantage Sox again. DiceK has been nasty so far. Phil's been up & down.
So I will be content with 1 out of 3. Given the way the offense is sputtering and the fact that the series is up at Fenway.
