Cool! A guy I work with has season tickets for the Phillies and just gave me his tickets for Friday night. Yes, one of the sold-out Mets games and Cole Hamels starting. Awesome!!!!

Funny thing is, this will only be my fifth time going to Citizens Bank Park, but I've only paid once.

The comeback was only equal to the initial insult. I don't try to show up my fellow Poly posters until they absolutely require it.

Tigers 4-10 and only 1 game behind Cleveland coming into a 2 game series against them.

Whites Sox and Royals better savor those early season wins against Detroit. If they are for real God bless them, it would be like the '05 White Sox or the '06 Tigers. But my money is still on 4 of the 5 following teams to be in the AL playoffs (in the follwowing order):

L A, Boston, Detroit, New York, Cleveland

NL seems to be a little trickier to me:

I think you got 8 or 9 true contenders in the NL

I guess in the AL you could throw Oakland in the mix if the Angels falter, but the AL seems alot more obvious to me. (And 3 of my top 5 teams are either in last or 2nd to last LOL)

Now I await everyone to tell me how wrong I am .

While this is likely true, don't mind me if I root for the Royals to make the playoffs .

Looks about right, though the order is a crapshoot. The Angels should be a near-lock for a playoff spot b/c of their division. Boston looks good. Detroit will be good, though I wonder about the pitching. Granted, the same can be said for my Yankees. Cleveland should be ok, especially now that they can finally go ahead and stick a fork in Borowski.

Yanks-Sox in a 2-gamer at the Stadium. Wang v. Buccholz and Mussina v. Beckett. A split would be just fine.

That was a really, really ugly game. Wow.

My team won, but I'm not happy. My ace had nothing. When a sinkerballer cannot get the ball to sink, well... see: 2007 ALDS NYY v CLE, games 1 and 4. He was not only throwing flat fastballs up in the zone, he also had an odd tailing action on his FB at times that resulted in a bunch of walks. Totally, completely out of wack.

Buccholz was actually better from a control point of view, but gave up some HRs and doubles (whereas Wang gave up almost exclusively singles). Anyway, they both got pounded. The Yankee bullpen wasn't all that impressive, but it was better than the dregs of the Sox 'pen.

Even the umpiring was no good. The Yanks got several calls (in particular, the non-strike three to Moeller before his bloop double and the non-call on Moeller's slide into 2B to break up a DP). The Sox got a couple as well, but not as many. Granted, the umps were probably driven half insane by the game they were witnessing.

In a shocking turn of events, Tejada has admitted to being 2 years older than he claimed.

Miguel Tejada told the A's when he signed out of the Dominican Republic in 1993 that he was 17. But he was actually 19, meaning he is now 33, two years older than his listed age in the Astros' media guide and other baseball records.

So not only did the Stros trade for a guy tainted in the mitchell rpt (and before), but also has more wear on his body than thought! (since I live in houston, as a cards fan, I can give a pretty hearty chuckle). its really weird, cause the article says his documentation shows his real age, but somehow the mlb was confused. ??? great background checks guys

he is playing pretty well so far-not sure what the contract time left is like.

He's on fire right now, yeah. Great hitter. I didn't see the Farnsworth brushback (brushbehind?) pitch. My wife says it was in the general vicinity of Manny's head. Was it close? I'm all for pitching inside and making a hitter concious of it, but I'm not at all down with throwing at people's heads.

Anyway, I got the split I expected. On to Baltimore. Come on, Phil, get it together kid!

It was behind his head. It didn't look all that close to me, but it spooked Manny
