No more than Cubs fans have for the past 100 years

Cubs fans are not disappointed. We have the comfort of total consistency and meeting expectiations, year after year. Obviously, if they were to win the WS, that would change things profoundly. But not in a disappointing way.
So you see, it pays to be a Cubs fan.

I realized I should support Boston over teams like the Yankees (rather than wish both got wiped out), even though they are kind of like Yankees lite with their payroll. The reason being that Epstein is quite clearly a sabermetric disciple and, Hell, they employ Bill James! Being sabermetrically inclined, I should hope for them to do well.
And well, being a die hard Mets fan, it is always nice to see the Yankees get some dirt in their eye .

Nah... the Cards are a different beast. As Buzz Bissinger's book "3 Nights in August" show, LaRussa isn't all that enamored with sabermetrics.
Though he is into stats, which is nice, and I've never had anything against the Cards. I even rooted for McGwire .

1 out of 3 at Fenway... fine. That's what I expected, and it's what I got. Phil Hughes getting smacked around was the part that was annoying. The curve Manny hit in the 1st inning... damn, Manny's a great hitter. Anyway, the kid is having command issues... as was Matsuzaka, actually, but the Yanks couldn't get the big hit to follow all the walks he gave them.
The bullpen conspired to give me a heart attack last night, but Robinson Cano bailed 'em out (about time he did something useful). Nice to see the offense pound Sonnanstine, who is the type of guy they should beat. Now that Longoria is up, the Rays have a pretty nasty middle of the order - all with power, speed and good defensive ability. I still think PECOTA's 88 win projection is too high (as is the Yanks 97 win projection), but I don't think it will be high be all that much. I could easily see the Rays finishing as a .500 team.
As for your rooting interests, Imran, I wouldn't expect you to have taste, being a Mets fan.
