They continue to go through a long list of mediocre skill players without getting the elements of a team that might actually win.

Terrible signing, not because Javon Walker is mediocre, but because he's a good but oft-injured player and he's getting Randy Moss money.
Oh, and Aaron Rodgers looks like the best QB in the NFCN."You're the biggest user of hindsight that I've ever known. Your favorite team, in any sport, is the one that just won. If you were a woman, you'd likely be a slut." - Slowwhand, to Imran

I like Javon OK, but this is reeediculous...
Raiders agreed to terms with Javon Walker on a six-year, $55 million contract, with $16 million guaranteed. He'll make $27 million in the first three years.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

Rodgers also walks into the best situation. The Pack have a very good defense and a nice OL with some young, but decent skill players.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

I'd say they planned on cutting him after three years, like another big contract recently signed (TJ Duckett-SEA), but given that he makes precisely half the money in the first three years that's obviously not the case ...<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

Given the precision they're using (the millions of dollars level), it's precisely half if you assume they are truncating rather than rounding<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

Because to paraphrase Gene Hackman; "He has no heart".
The bears should have just let him go and try to find someone in the draft, and get by with Orton for a couple of years.*"Winning is still the goal, and we cannot win if we lose (gawd, that was brilliant - you can quote me on that if you want. And con - I don't want to see that in your sig."- Beta

The thing is he's reasonably cheap for a QB. Going with Orton will mean we definitely suck for several years (unless he suddenly improves, like I thought he would last year, but didn't). Grossman is an adequate backup for Orton and might sometimes be a better choice - indeed you could start the matchup like in baseball, start the QB that presents the better matchup<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.
