Cripes, you have to call M'sieur Lievremont adventurous. Wholesale changes again and wholesale new caps. Good for him. Nice to see Jauzion back, for starters, and nice to see the back of Marty. Odd to see Parra out, though. I look forward to our resident hooker's assessment." ... and the following morning I should see the Boks wallop the Wallabies again?" - Havak

Isn't he supposed to be trying to actually win things? That was what I found strange about his selection against England's experience...
Obviously he's thinking about the future, but surely he should be giving those players their debuts during games like Scotland and Italy?
As for Ian Evans, as far as I can remember, Masi literally ran into his back for the second 'offence'...

That France team is indeed surprising. I don't know half of the team. Sure, it's against Italy this time, so we're less likely to rout than against England, but it's a lot of changes.
In the forwards, I don't think the scrum will be worse than it's been since the start of the tournament. The new flanker will have to be good since he'll be "replacing" Sudautoir, who's very good.
I don't know the scrum half, but Italy doesn't shine in this department so he should be able to fare well.
As for the centres, having Jauzion and not having Marty are two good news.Clash of Civilization team member

Whether they will Slam, and the quality of that Slam, will be defined by the next two games not the previous three (England capitulated and the other two opponents were the weakest in the 6N). If they Slam they will deserve it - that is always the case.
Look on the brightside the new French coach is the 'anti-Ashton' in that he can't stop tinkering. That should benefit Wales. And this must be your best chance of beating Ireland in Dublin for a very long time?
The problem with Wales is even if they Slam you couldn't then be confident they could really challenge a tri-nations side? France and England on the other hand could win a wooden spoon and still have a realistic chance of toppling an SH side in the autumn. It must drive Welsh fans crazy with frustration that you keep having these false dawns and the associated rampant optimism? Remember your countrymen who thought you would then win the RWC after the 2005 Slam? Knocked out by Sevens specialists weren't you?It is better to keep silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt

Put it this way - if Wales Slam (I'll run with your use of a noun as a verb ) this time, it will mean something more than it did last time. Last time, France aside, the oppo was dreadful, and even France produced their schizophrenic best. This time, England, for all their sins, are better than last time and the Paddys are, in fits and starts, vastly better than last time. Scotland are even more impotent than last time and Italy's ten minutes of madness cost them dearly.
It's also, I think, a better Welsh team than last time, capable of playing better rugby than last time - which is to say, Gatland seems to be managing to add another layer to their kamikaze Sevens-style rugby, that which did the job last time." ... and the following morning I should see the Boks wallop the Wallabies again?" - Havak
