        But if you want to engage in a discussion of the relative merits of awarding an extra point to a shootout winner versus awarding a point to a team that mainatianed a tie through 65 minutes, bring that on. If we are talking about awarding points on any type team merit, I know where I stand.

              I actually find it amazing that the Flames suck so bad in the shootout and yet still find themselves in a playoff spot. Its a testament to their record. I admit they suck at shootouts and it hurts them as a team since that is how games are decided in the regular season. They will have to be really strong in the actual hockey game part of matches to make up for it.

                I'm not sure how pointing out you are both bitter and likely also drunk will get the threads banned. Every Oilers fan I know drinks heavily after the Oilers losses. Just part of the culture in Edmonton.

                            I am a fan of some teams-- so are you and therefore we both do have some biases-- what of it?

                            If you actually read my posts you will see that I have not exactly been too complementary of this year's Flames-- But they have turned a corner-- Not only have they been generally "deserving" of their wins on this win streak, they actually had several games in their preceding losing skid where they really outplayed the other team. So I am beginning to see them as more legitimate playoff squad.

                            I know that if you outplay the other team enough times the wins will come-- and in the Flames case they HAVE started to come



                            Answer me this . . . How many games have the Oil won in regulation and how is that particular number evidence of a superior team?
