    Oh, and some of the comments on the Globe and Mail site are priceless. Here's a few good ones:

    Ultimately, hockey is just a form of entertainment... and with that perspective in mind, Bryan McCabe is the best player EVER.... I thought tripping over the net was a brilliant main performance - but tonight, what an encore! Bravo!


    Ironic how McCabe scores the OT winner and Buffalo gets the two points. Nice job $5M Man! He missed the net earlier in the game but didn't when it counted, 3 seconds left!!! That guy shouldn't even be in the NHL. Send him to the Marlies until he asks to be traded. Maybe the Leafs can get a stick rack and a couple of water bottles for him.


    Can anyone say C-H-O-K-E! What an embarassment. Looks like Ottawa won't have to almost single-handedly squash the Leaf's hopes for a post-season birth for the third year in a row. The leafs have become the whipping boys of the NHL. Apparently, the Panthers aren't even going to show up for their match against them on Thursday until the third period, just to be good sports.


    With mere seconds left on the clock, a lot of players would have panicked with an open net staring at them. But, McCabe didn't. With Raycroft out of position, McCabe calmly fired the puck past the sprawling goaltender. A great goal that will live forever on YouTube.

      Oh and tonight its calgary v Colorado-- I really enjoy watching the Avs and hopefully this will be a real good one

      The Flames are coming off 2 road wins so have as much road confidence as they have had in a while. The Avs meanwhile have destroyed teams at home and are winless on the road ( sounds like a Flames impression). The games are usually high-scoring. Since I have Tanguay, Brunette and Nolan ( yes Nolan) I am hoping its 9-8 with a ton of PPGs

        Good ones. You kinda have to laugh. Although those that are Leaf fans probably want to cry

        I know McCabe does not make it easy to defend him

          I remember when most Leafs fans mentioned McCabe for Norris.

                  In a pre-game interview, Ryan Smyth revealed he was "ALMOST" a Flame in the off-season.

                  Edit: IGGY! 3-0. Colorado looks TERRIBLE.

                  Juice almost scores right after, draws a penalty so the Flames start the 2nd with a 3 goal lead and on the PP...

                    Yup Colorado looks bad tonight-- So far this year they have alternated easy wins with crappy losses

                      I recall a time when several people on this forum made the McCabe > Phaneuf assertion.

                      Though McCabe's was a beaut, too. Certainly more memorable!

                            Iginla chases Budaj from the net...4-0..Theodore comes in. Iginla's 3rd point of the game so far.

                            But Smyth scores...

                            Lucky bounce. Shoots the puck, bounces off Regehr's skate into the net...True Smyth style.
