    • Virginia was 15th in the BCS standings and 7-1 before today. They definitely belonged in the discussion.

And I hardly think a 5 point victory is tearing anyone anything .

      • I wonder where DanS's objective evidence for USC over BC is now...

I figure we're all gonna have the following teams in our top seven in some order: OSU, BC, LSU, Oregon, WV, Oklahoma, Kansas. Toss in ASU should they win. Those last two or three spots are a total crapshoot. Missouri? UConn? Georgia? Auburn? Virginia Tech? Hawai'i? Cal? Texas? Or... possibly even... Michigan?

        • ASU goes up 21-20. But a few plays before the TD, their QB ran into their TB and hurt his throwing hand/wrist.

Edit: Looks like his thumb is taped up.

To be fair, BC didn't look all that great against VTech. They are only ranked #2 for me because of their record, but I'm seriously wondering if Oregon isn't the superior team.

            • I don't get involved in this, but it's:

              LSU
              Kansas
              Oklahoma
              Boston College
And why do all blow off Boise State this year?

Yes, I still think BC & LSU are better than Ohio State, even though Ohio State did show me something today.

                • LSU lost a game. OSU did not, and has played enough decent teams to show it is good.

They've earned at least #2 if not #1. I don't think you can rank a one loss team ahead of a solid 0 loss team right now...

                  I'd rank them:
                  1. OSU
                  2. BC
                  3. LSU
                  4. WVU
                  5. ASU
                  6. Oregon (Until they beat ASU)
                  7. Kansas
                  8. Oklahoma
                  9. VT
                  10. Missouri

If I'm predicting how I think the season will end, then I'd have a different list, with Oregon being the likely national champions (I'm confident they'll beat ASU). Not sure who'd be my 2nd team (to lose to Oregon in the championships), but it'd probably be one of (BC, WVU, LSU) because I think OSU will lose at some point in the big ten schedule, to either Michigan or Wisconsin.

                  • You just did. I'll ask again about Boise State.
                    Yeah. What about them?

Oh, I'm relatively certain that BC is no better than #10, but they have earned a higher ranking with their season to date.

There is no objective evidence that USC (or any team, for that matter) is better than them; all opinion.

I think they'll beat Hawai'i, and are probably a top 15 to top 10 team. Unfortunately, they'll never make it back to a BCS game this year due to that Washington loss.

My top ten was hard this week. All of the undefeated teams showed something this week (save Hawai'i), and that was the primary reason I was keeping them lower in my rankings. Now, I have to figure out, who was the most impressive? Ohio State, who went into the Whiteout and pimpslapped a good Penn State team? Boston College, who looked like **** and then stormed back in the last four minutes to beat a very good Virginia Tech? Arizona State, beating a rapidly-fading, but still good, Cal? Kansas, beating a decent Texas A&M on the road? And then, what of the one-loss teams? LSU's big wins (and loss) all took a hit this week, and look less impressive in retrospect. Oregon's loss looks worse by the week, while their nutstomping of Michigan looks better and better. West Virginia's loss also took a big hit. Oklahoma looks better, as does Missouri. Decisions, decisions...

                        6. LSU
                        7. Oklahoma
                        8. West Virginia
                        9. Missouri
                        10. Virginia Tech

                        • I'm fairly confident Hawai'i will beat Boise State... we'll see I guess. It's at Hawai'i, isn't it? That's one of the biggest homefield advantages of all time ...

                              • Ok, I get to finish filling out things... but I think I'm moving some things around actually in my Top 6 (well, just two teams, really)!!

                                1) Ohio State
                                2) Oregon
                                3) Boston College
                                4) West Virginia
                                5) LSU
                                6) Oklahoma
                                7) Arizona State
                                8) Missouri
                                9) Kansas
                                10) Georgia
