For changing your own roster (players to and from the bench) you have until faceoff (a few minutes earlier actually, I think it's when the rosters get transmitted to the league from the score keepers).

You're making this too complicated. Just use the Yahoo rule that it takes majority to veto a trade with a three-day deadline to vote.

Because let's face it, if the commish vetos a trade, one of the people in the trade will demand vote.

Also, what is "evidence"? We'll end up arguing forever about that definition.


So the options should be :
Option 1: 4 votes to veto any trade
Option 2: Commish only vetoes trades with evidence of collusion/firesale, can be overridden by majority (7+) consensus of members
Option 3: Majority vote required to veto a trade.

On the trade thing

Should this really be that big a thing? If you trust your commish, my proposal will work well . . . on the standard we are talking, the trade would have to be a pretty blatant firesale.

I would think that it be that the commish, if they see a suspicious trade should contact the parties involved privately with their concern . He would mainly be trying to get a sense of what the player
(who was so badly getting the worse of a trade,) was thinking. If there is any reasonable explanation, it ends there.

Lets use some common sense here--
Since only fradulent firesale type trades are to be vetoed, my hope is that no veto will be needed.

I am in this for some fun. I would be pissed if someone gives away their team for nothing-- it spoils the game. I will, to the bitter end, play this to better my team and my team alone. That said, if I want to make a trade , I want minimal interference from people but see explaining my thoughts a little to someone to be a very small price to pay, if there are concerns about integrity.

If you trust your commish to judge fairly, its no issue at all

You guys have played this for a couple of years at least. I would really hope that you have a sense of one of you that you would be pretty sure would do the right thing. ( and the majority ovverride is there as a safety valve)

If there is no one that can be trusted by EVERYONE to take on this pretty simple role, thats pretty sad.

LOL, this is only my second year in the pool, but I don't think there was a trade last year so no I don't think this should be a huge issue.

I am happy with option 2 if it means we will be able to lay this issue to rest..........but then what would be talk about? Hockey?

Just go to the league page, click setting then look at trade review.

It's set now at commish. All we need to do is switch it to league votes, which is the standard for Yahoo leagues.

Let's keep it simple, effective and limit the amount of whining from you.
