It's not that the entire team is bad. The defense was already questionable but now that Rollie cools off, it becomes more obvious.

You need a real #1 d-man.

Roli has been off, but last night the whole team was off. We've seen it before. They play very soft in their own end. The forwards don't hit anything and some of them are prone to losing their man (Horcoff with a -4). And then there is the early parade to the penalty box that throws all the lines off. Robo-dman couldn't fix that.

Despite some brutal reffing that nullified a clear Flames goal without even sending it upstairs for review, and two brutal bull**** calls to gift Edmonton a 1:40 5-3 that they scored on, the Flames managed a decisive victory over the lowly Edmonton Oilers.

Roloson was spectacular. He was the fans' #1 star of the game.

So has Edmonton given up 19 goals in 3 games now? Stell-aarrr.

Boo needs to do something about his goalies - he's only got Giguere and Bryzgalov and failed to get his three games in last week.

The Flames looked better once again last night and while I haven't loved their play over the last stretch, they are a respectable 5-4-1 in their last 10.

I am also quite happy to see Hamrlik back. Having him partnered with Phaneuf makes for a very potent top d-pair

As for Edmonton, they'll get hot again soon. Rollie will steal a game and the offense will explode. They are way better than their 2-8 record in their last 10. (although they have looked very very bad at times in that stretch)

Chicago and Columbus-- Both have cooled off a little but both have played .500 over the last 10 games. Chicago in particular is lingering just 4 points out. Columbus are a mere additional 3 points back

THey just got kill but I guess it was inevitable. THey had destroyed TO the last 4 times out IIRC so it was the Leafs turn to get one.

Sundin is looking awesome too. He'll probably singlehandedly keep the Leafs close enough to contention that they can't think of trading him as a "rental".

Its WILD in the east to think that 14 of 15 teams are still within reasonable range of the last playoff spot. Although with Florida its deceiving as their 14th position only 4 points back comes with them having played as many as 5 games more than the other contenders. Making up ground on a pack is hard. Making it up when lost of them get to play 3-5 more games than you is improbable
