      • All she wrote... 41-14 Florida destroys OSU. Wonder what the "experts" who thought OSU would win by that margin are going to say tomorrow.

        • Wisconsin was the only one of the "big 3" to win its bowl game (against Auburn).
          You mean Arkansas.

Uhh... aside from Florida and LSU, what exactly has the SEC done this bowl season?
          Let's go through the list:

-- Destroyed the universally-proclaimed #1 team in the country.
-- Steamrolled a Notre Dame team that was #2 at the start of the season (and most importantly, shut down its high-powered offense almost completely).
          -- Took down the Big 12 runner-up.
-- Played the most underappreciated team in the nation very close.
-- Upset an ACC power (Georgia over Va Tech), and an ACC wannabe power (Kentucky over Clemson, which hadn't won a bowl game in over 20 years)
-- Knocked off one of the top mid-majors in the country (South Carolina over Houston)
-- Went 6-2 in bowl games overall. Only conference that did better, I believe, was the Big East.

            .

ND's moving up. In less than a week. Must have the mo.

              • Florida and LSU, I already said did something, so take them off the list.

Took down the Big 12 runner up... oh wow... the fact that Auburn barely beat a team that was ranked 12 spots below it is embarrassing.

                Tennessee looked like total crap.

Georgia was handed the game against VTech and didn't look all that great (look at the stats). Neither team did in that one.

South Carolina beating Houston being a plus (rather than simply being expected) for the SEC is just amusing.

Ok, perhaps, Kentucky did well, but it did beat a middle tier team in the worst BCS conference in the country.

And anyone using the Auburn victory over Nebraska as a proof of the SEC's quality is a moron. Auburn got outplayed by a mediocre 9-4 team...

                  • Though I do like the fact that some people are taking the fact that the top two teams in the SEC are great as evidence that the SEC is not overrated. I'm wondering what ever happened to the "deepest conference" talk? Can we get someone to acknowledge that the SEC's middle is just average, and the conference just isn't as "deep" as a lot of people think it is?

                    • And the thing is, the SEC wouldn't be overrated if its fans would show the least bit of modesty and football knowledge. It's a perenially good conference. Sometimes it's deep, sometimes it's ruled by a handful of elite teams. This year was a case of the latter, but you still couldn't find an SEC fan smart or humble enough to admit that the SEC wasn't that strong once you got past the top quarter of the teams...

Fla plays a gimmicky offense, which matches up very poorly with OSU's defense (disciplined, aggressive, smart). I can definitely see OSU's D feast on Leak and Tebow. Go Bucks!

I think I would say the same thing if they were replaying the game next week, even knowing what I know now.

However, Florida was the better team today and deserved the win.
