  • On a more conciliatory note before I disappear for Lent, I would absolutely support impeaching the nincompoop, with two provisos:

    1. We have to actually have a prayer of getting the votes to boot him this time, as opposed to the pathetic Resistance Theater we went through twice his last term.
    2. I'm not totally convinced that Vance would be a significant improvement. Dude wrote a book full of keen insights about the way rural people blame others for their own failures, then played to that same tendency and flogged it all the way to the White House. Not sure what he really wants but he's probably smart enough to get it and equipped with a real attention span so we might be safer with the orange manchild.

I've got to say that seeing his performance the other day, Vance seems like a horrible piece of ****. Those two are truly the dregs, how the **** did they get to where they are?

Well, the alternative was a black-Indian woman. Whose policies were bad because the price of eggs, and Gaza, or something.

Definitely not sexism or racism, I've been informed those are solved problems already in the US.

this is rich. You basically just asserted that the problems with the election of Harris were either definitely predominantly sexism or racism or definitely not sexism or racism at all. not something far from either of these interpretations.

He was being sarcastic. Given the number of misogynistic and racist Americans, and the closeness of the election, it's reasonable to say misogyny and racism probably covers the spread.

because the number of Americans voting for Harris because she was a woman (first female president) or because she was a black-indian are definitely fewer? seriously?

anecdotally my daughter and by her account all of her friends wanted Harris to win because she was a woman. I read similar sentiments quite frequently online. I do not recall a single individual opposing her election because she was a woman or because she was black-Indian. not one. Is your experience different?

<getting sick of these missed single characters. might be time for a new keyboard.>

Yeah, it was never talked about openly. But you have to look out for the dog whistles.

really? because historically dog whistles were reliable footprints for gauging actual political sentiments? How do we know this? is the assertion even falsifiable?

                  • My personal experience and the historical precedents all seem to indicate that people who act on hate filled bias tend to loudly and obnoxiously inflict that on those around them. They don't seem to be into subtle dog whistles to get their point across.
