Are you referring to puberty blockers as "powerful prescription drugs that cause irreversible physical changes"?

Also, any evidence that 'mutilating surgery' is performed on children at any scale? I could find some evidence of surgery on minors (teens, not children), although it has been mostly breast removal. While looking for info, I also found out that there were significantly more breast enhancement surgeries for non-gender-care reasons (and a huge boatload of rhinoplasties) performed on minors.

I also find it very curious (read: no I don't) that all these worries about "permanently mutilating children" never seem to care about circumcision.
proposals to ban only use of mutilating surgery and prescription drugs with irreversible effects in treatment of minors for gender dysphoria have been vehemently opposed by trans activists. I'm pleased to learn that such bans would not bother you and that there's no reason to expect any such treatments to be performed on minors for gender dysphoria regardless.

I wonder what a forum search will reveal about what I've had to say about performing circumcision on minors outside of religious mandate? maybe all of those posts fell into the same black hole as Mobius's 2500 nuggets of wisdom?

For the record, kudos to you Nestor if you oppose "circumcision" of healthy minors in general.

You're saying the power of propaganda is well illustrated by these changes to passport rules resulting in Thorn being unable to either have Thorn's original passport honored or even to update the passport to satisfy all of the new demands?

You're saying "circumcision" instead of "mutilating circumcision", that alone says a lot.

I also put it in scare quotes. Are you seriously accusing me of giving a pass to routine infant circumcision? I didn't think you were that new to these forums. Also, I regularly borrow the choice of language used by those that I profoundly disagree with, if only to try to get through to them. I admit I'm not terribly consistent at doing so, but it should be obvious that when I talk about, for example, "the special military operation" it's not because I don't think the Russian invasion of Ukraine is a war.

Puberty has irreversible effects. Better put everyone on puberty blockers until they're 25.

permanent lack of puberty (especially with external cause) is a pathological condition. Are you truly asserting no consensus for conservative medicine exists?

The power is pervasive, permeating the echo chambers birthed by Machiavelli's many children. As for the passport, the feds should honor the current one until they replace it for free. I don't know how many people have upgraded their ID but I suspect a majority of the country still doesn't have the ID required to fly in a few months. Unless ofc you're here illegally. They'll even fly you in with the help of USAID.

Can we FOCUS!? I didn’t start this thread for arguments about transgender kids. I have no experience in that so all I can say is **** off! My point is they have so royally messed up the passport system in the state department and state ids by doing this I’m caught in a net of bull****, that has trapped me, and bad things are in store for me where I could get hurt or worse! I was just living my life, now I live in constant stress and in fact am sick because it is dropping my immune system, and complicating my other medical issues.

Although I strongly doubt we will able to help much with working around this administration's passport policy fail maybe we'll be able to help you mitigate the stress somewhat. First off is your constant stress almost entirely a matter of worry or is it the stress of theoretically manageable challenges that are just getting to be too much for a reasonable workload on a reasonable schedule? Is your stress related to fears of getting hurt or worse mostly ill-defined fears of government persecution/government shielded persecution? There's ways to prepare for worst case scenarios in that regard that perhaps could help you with the related stresses.

Maybe Thorn's fears are based on the fact that the US government has just banned trans people from serving in the military, banned their entry into the country, banned their ability to use the bathroom of their choice, banned any research relating to them, and heavily implied that they're all predatory pedophiles. Those all sound like things to legitimately be worried about. Maybe we shouldn't belittle Thorn's concerns. Maybe we should just find ways to help her with what she's going through, and if we can't, maybe we should just shut the **** up.

Belittling concerns generally doesn't help. Articulating the specific stressors and working out mitigation strategies might.
