Sedition. They were charged with sedition. And the reason they were charged with sedition, in case you've forgotten, is because they attempted to disrupt the lawful, peaceful, democratic transfer of power. That is, they staged an insurrection. Which is, in fact, and this is true, not the same thing as causing property damage and looting.Click here if you're having trouble sleeping.

Nono, you don't get it. If you accidentally scratch your car against a fence, you're causing property damage, and this is the same as anarchy.

Second, could you clarify if you are asking us why anyone might think that Trump's useful idiots received vastly larger penalties for trying to influence the workings electoral college than are given to rioters for trying to terrify juries and even entire populations into ruling on cases as they demand? or are you asking why you think the prosecuting attorneys decided to work to charge these rioters but not to charge others? or are you asking both questions?

Why do you think there are 1500 Jan 6 insurrectionists currently in prison? Because MWHC said so?
Why do you think the George Floyd rioters didn't receive lengthy prison sentences? Because Fox News said so?Click here if you're having trouble sleeping.

In this case however I'll satisfy myself with search and share that hopefully you will agree is no more likely to favor Trump than the excoriate him:
Some people charged in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol and their Republican allies claim the Justice Department is treating them harshly because of their political views.
Note that the article claims that despite combing for suitable records nationwide they examined only about 300 charges against individuals in association with the Floyd riots vs over 1,500 people in association with the washington DC jan 6th rioting, Does anyone really believe that there were nearly 5 times as many criminals nationwide to support Trump's riot than the support seen for all of the previous summers rioting?
Here's another article that specifically corroborates that over 1,500 sets of charges were pressed in association with the Jan 6th rioting.

Yes, ~1500 people were eventually charged in connection with January 6. There are not 1500 people in prison because of their insurrectionist activity. Not all were found guilty (or pleaded guilty). Not all of the cases had yet been resolved, because it was an ongoing investigation over years. Many received no jail time. A very big chunk received sentences on the order of days or weeks. A very few received sentences of years--those charged was seditious conspiracy. The main effect of the pardon was to absolve the insurrectionists of their sins, not to release "political hostages."Click here if you're having trouble sleeping.

Doesn't Trump constantly bill himself as the energy independence President? What a steaming crock.
Trump temporarily halts offshore wind energy leases and pauses approvals, permits and loans for both offshore and onshore wind.
Apparently he needs to halt all production of electricity from wind on federal lands because of his enormous concerns for impacted wildlife. Obviously he's managed to line the fossil fuel industry behind himself and and further development of wind power is not good for their bottom line I'll allow that it might also be the spite of a shore lands real estate developer displeased with the awful "eyesore" of windmills when they could be replaced with smokestacks in the suburbs.

That stupid and incorrect. All the major fossil fuel companies are already profitably invested in alt energy like wind and solar.
And I guarantee you that "eyesore" and "wildlife" are just another way of saying "because I said so." Trump does NOT give a sh1t about birds.

I agree that his halting of development of offshore wind is stupid and incorrect. I hope you aren't saying that my expressed skepticism of the sincerity of his stated concerns for wildlife or that my speculation that maybe concessions to fossil fuel backers or his own business interests concerning his shore properties "blighted" by visible wind turbines are actually to blame are likewise "stupid and incorrect". However incorrect I might've been you can't expect Trump's real motives to be something that will stand up to critical scrutiny.
