Apparently, Trump doesn't agree with your logic either. He's literally stopping development of undeveloped wind power rather than "doing both". I would certainly expect an "energy independence" president to "do both". Instead Trump is halting economically viable privately funded domestically located off-shore wind power development from occurring, without subsidy and he says he's doing it to protect wildlife. Maybe he should call himself the situationally dependent wildlife conscious president but he has no business claiming a title of "energy independence" president after this obviously high priority day one executive order.

Seriously? I don't consume US news, and even I caught wind (pun intended) of his irrational anger towards wind turbines, starting with his calling them windmills.

He's claimed they cause cancer. He's suddenly worried about all the birds killed by impact with the blades (although the orders of magnitude higher amount of birds killed by fossil fuel pollution don't matter). He's claimed that offshore wind turbines kills whales (spoiler: no they don't).
