As a government shutdown that could affect millions of Americans looms over Congress, House Republicans are busy launching their impeachment inquiry circus against President Joe Biden.

On Thursday, the House Oversight Committee held its first hearing of their official impeachment inquiry investigation of as-yet-unproven allegations of “abuse of power, obstruction, and corruption,” by President Biden.

The GOP invited three witnesses to testify before the committee: Justice Department official Eileen O’Connor, law professor Jonathan Turley, and forensic accountant Bruce Dubinsky.

If Republicans were looking for a bombshell first hearing, they didn’t get it. All three witnesses agreed that they would not be presenting “any first-hand witness account of crimes committed by the president of the United States.”

Turley, who is also a legal analyst for Fox News, went so far as to say that despite generally supporting the inquiry, he does “not believe the current evidence would support articles of impeachment,” against the president.

We have examples of Republicans trying to enter hearsay into the congressional record while keeping exculpatory evidence out of the congressional record.

This is why I keep asking for evidence, and not just (so far) baseless accusations.

Yeah? It's the democrats in favour of sending more money and weapons to keep Ukrainians alive. If it was up to republicans, it would all stop and Ukrainians would continue being genocided in greater numbers.

The bank records that I have heard about don't show what you claim they are showing.

As an example referenced earlier, one that was held up showing that money went to Joe Biden was actually money going to Hunter Biden (who was using his father's address, because he was being a mess living in hotels).

But the accusations is made, and not corrected when the facts and evidence comes out.

I mean, even if they find a big pile of evidence against Biden, the democrats in the Senate can just choose not to listen to any of it and vote to acquit, right? They can follow the example that Republican senators set with Trump's impeachment hearings.

If they have evidence, of course... If not, no. But we know they have evidence, its just a matter of connecting the dots between $$$ transfers to the Biden clan and actions taken in office. Like using our taxes to fire a Ukrainian prosecutor investigating his son's business. Trump got impeached for wanting that investigated. One of the committee members from Michigan I think spent most of her 5 minutes reciting bank records involving Romania. Is Biden war profiteering? Does he make money from a decade long war in eastern Ukraine? Who else in Washington has been getting money from or via Ukraine?

Justin Trudeau smeared truckers as white supremacists for protesting covid policy but said we cannot allow the embarrassment of parliament giving a Ukrainian Nazi veteran of WWII a standing ovation get in the way of pushing back against Russian propaganda. How do people vote for him? Is he up for re-election any time soon?

Christia Freeland is a big shot in the Canadian govt. Her family has quite a history with the Nazis. She was asked if Canada would (re)open an investigation into Nazis escaping to Canada with the govts help. Apparently Canada took in a couple thousand or more Nazis making them citizens while Jews were kept in barbed wire camps. Her word salad response would give Kamala a run for the money. Anyway, it seems the Canadian parliament has stricken the ovation from the official record.
