I suppose he'll say it's going lousy for Russia but much worse for Ukraine and much better for Russia than if they had let the nazis in Kiev keep shelling the Donbas every day. I have been comparing this war to WWI. Battle of the Somme vs Bakhmut. This war, like Iraq 2 is terrible because it was grossly unnecessary but its still small change in terms of casualties from the worst wars of the past 110 years.
