I do have to say that a lot of Westerners have underestimated the sanction resilience of the Russian economy. Personally I am almost as impressed by how small the contraction of the Russian economy was over the last year as I've been by how well the Ukrainian military has performed.

Ukraine's allies need to recognize the implications of how ineffective the massive sanctions have been.

If Russia has economic woes going forward, I'm sure it will have little to do with any new initiatives by Ukraine's allies and everything to do with China exploiting opportunities to profit at Russian expense.
