We were pretty much ok with those territorial losses of the Soviet Union (despite the desintegration of USSR was ABSOLUTELY ILLEGAL, both in accordance with the Soviet Constitution, the Helsinky agreement and the will of the Soviet people, who had clearly voted to preserve the USSR on Referendum).
We were doing business with Ukraine for decades!
Subsidised them for hundreds of billions of dollars.
Then you came in 2014, made an anti-constitutional Coup and established the ABSOLUTELY anti-Russian Nazi regime, which immidiently have started to kill Russians of Ukraine and get a course to NATO, to place American missiles 8 minutes away flight from Moscow.

Do you honestly think we would tolerate that forever?!

For 8 years we have tried to resolve this conflict peacefully.

We are the three branches of the same people with their origins at Kiev (back then known as the capital of Rus). And we differ from each other only slightly.

So, it is pretty much a civil war, started and instigated by the West in 2014.

Only an idiot can call Russia, back then known as "Rus" a "big Ukraine", considering that Russia existed (according to chronicles since 9th century with the capital in Kiev), while such thing as "Ukraine" (Ukranian Peoples Republic) as a sovereign state existed only between 1917-1918 and occupied only a tiny portion of the modern Ukraine (then being defeated by the Soviet Ukraine who among four other Soviet Republics have established the Soviet Union in 1922).

?? No. (1) I have no claims on the land of Israel. (2) The claims Jews made as part of the effort to create a modern state of Israel were not "valid." No place "really" belongs to X group, no land is Y group's "true" homeland. We all are where we are and we have to make the best of it.

Ukraine is not Russia.
The term "Ukraine" was invented and introduced by Austro-Hungrians in 1890's or something. Because the provinces of Ruthenia and Galicia were under their rule, the part of their Empire. And since those provinces were absolutely Russia nad Orthodox, they have spitted the inead that they are not Russians, but "Ukranians".
They hang anyone or throw into a concentration camps anyone who doesn't accept the idea.

Before that there was NEVER ANY UKRAINE! PERIOD!

The lands now know as Ukraine are historical Russian lands since 10th century and the gifts of Russian tzars and bolshevicks.



It is an artificial and failed state, which never existed before!
(except of the few years of the short period of the Russian revolution, and even then the absolute majority of Ukraine was Soviet and ended-up as one of the four co-founders of the Soviet Union).
