Absolutely the same was included in my classes. Those were three years, where all the basics were covered completely. And electricity was divided to a lot of disciplines with a lot of applications. Basically my future job rotated around electricity, material and the way of transfering signals.

It does sound like you have a bit more education in the field than I do. Kudos to you! Outside of Engineers and Physicist I usually have a bit more.

Yes, I did.
Despite I was graduated with a diploma of a railroad engineer, which is a very specific profession, we had to study physics for a first three years in University.
