nature of applied communism which is one hand different than communism and on the other at least on par with what went on during the anticummunist hysteria of the cold war in more countries than one.Originally posted by N35t0r View PostTBF, the heavily authoritarian nature of communism puts it very close to fascism.
Both nazism and communism are a produyct of the post modernist period. They have the same roots. However they are not identical and a sure way to tell apart a fascist is if they're equating communism and fascism. Usually they are also unhinged supporters of unregulated markets. Basic Enemy.

So the fascists had in common that they all equated fascism and communism? Is that what kept the Spanish civil war going?Originally posted by Bereta_Eder View Post

I think fascists are people who don't believe that capitalism is the enslavement of the workers and also support waging war against other countries in the name of 'freedom'. Isn't that what it has always meant?Originally posted by Bereta_Eder View PostThey see themselves as something else. Definitely not fascists. That's the whole point

Thank you! I now understand how dangerous the fascists were with the revelation that their defining characteristic is to profess to not appreciate the difference between fascism and communism while claiming to not be fascists themselves.Originally posted by Bereta_Eder View PostDo my english suck this bad?
If someone agrues that communists and fascists are the same thing, he is a fascist but he doesn't admit it he just reveals that he is by making this equation
Very simple

I have the sneaking suspicion that you're trying hard to be sarcastic.
In the off hand that you're serious then of course that's not their only characteristic.
Do you take the COVID test?
. The equation of fascism and communism is the covid test for fascists.

Geronimo used to be one of the posters that you could count on for well reasoned arguments... You can put him on 'ignore' now.

I'm actually relieved that this was an ill fated attempt at sarcasm probably due to an absence of a real responce and not some severe cognitive impariment on his part

So this begs the question from my point of view...Are Communism and Applied Communism different in a real world way?"I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration." - Hillary Clinton, 2003

Oh, they are different enough. Communism was slightly better for most people living under the regime than fascism (although if you were an 'enemy of the state', then that's of little comfort for you, you're pretty much dead). They are closer to each other then either is to a liberal democracy thoughOriginally posted by Bereta_Eder View Post

Thank you. The communist ideology was vastly superior to the fascist ideology.Originally posted by N35t0r View Post

However, I maintain that when these totalitarian systems waged total war on their neighbors they quickly became barely distinguishable from each owing in no small measure to the necessities of war.
