Why would China do anything? They're getting cheaper oil and gas from Russia now that a lot of the market for that is closing, and will have an even stronger negotiating position when it comes to exploiting the resources in Siberia.Indifference is BlissComment

It's hard to believe that total US military aid to Ukraine this year at something like 4 billion dollars is comparable to Ukraine's entire defence budget while total US military aid to Afghanistan was almost 100 billion. Yet Ukraine holds out months against a military superpower of War gods while Afghanistan lasts a couple days against some illiterate insurgents.

Most of the "Afghan Army" soldiers didn't actually exist. They were made up by corrupt Generals and officials in order to pocket their paychecks.
Plus much of the ammunition and supplies for the troops they did have was sold on the black market to the Taliban.I am not delusional! Now if you'll excuse me, i'm gonna go dance with the purple wombat who's playing show-tunes in my coffee cup!
