No thanks, but I'll take the sniffles.

    • Your opinion on vaccines cannot be trusted. You got only one dose of mRNA, but that was enough.
It has made your blood impure, which has obviously poisoned your ability to reason.

This is coming from someone that still thinks that vaxxines immunize you even thought the CDC removed that claim that they immunize you from their website.

Nice of you to acknowledge that, in the face of all evidence, you choose to ignore the science.
Instead, you apparently spend your time posting complete lies about people, including made-up BS about what other people think.
Your callous disregard for your fellow citizens is appalling. You are one sick puppy.

      • I wont bother with a booster, I got vaxxed last August and I hear too many shots can be counter productive. Repeated boosters wear out the immune system and I'm not worried about Omicron. I"ll wait to see if a worse variant comes out and whats available on the vaccine front before getting another shot. My older golfing buddy (we're both in our 60s) got his booster but he got his 2 shots early in '21 and he has more serious health problems.

          • I think that it is reasonable to, if you are low risk, wait until you can get one of the better boosters that are coming out. The current booster was made for Alpha and was strongly recommended due to Delta. It still has effectiveness, but reduced, for Omicron.

On the other hand, Omicron is super infectious.

‘Put Ya’ Lighters Up’: New Study Finds Cannabis Could Block COVID-19 From Entering The Body

A new study suggests there may be some special health benefits hidden in cannabis plants that could help to block COVID-19 from entering the body.

Scientists from Oregon State University and Oregon Health & Sciences University published a new peer-review study that examined three cannabis compounds that are found in THC and CBD: cannabigerolic acid, which scientists dubbed CBG-A; tetrahydrocannabinolic acid, known as THC-A; and cannabidiolic acid, or CBD-A.

After extracting them from the plant, the biological compounds were then incubated with the spike protein from COVID-19 (SARS-COV-2 virus) and were injected into human epithelial cells after 24 hours. Scientists discovered that the virus’s cells had been miraculously treated by the CBDA and CBGA compounds. The cells had no trace of the COVID-19 RNA, essentially blocking high concentrations of the virus from entering.

A technique called “affinity-selection mass spectrometry” was used to assess how the compounds interacted with the spike protein of COVID-19. The same effect occurred when scientists conducted the experiment on alpha and beta strains of the variants found in the U.K. and South Africa.

Researchers said that the evidence could provide a strong case for the compounds to be used to create another preventive measure for protecting against stronger variants of the virus in the future. “With widespread use of cannabinoids, resistant variants could still arise, but the combination of vaccination and CBDA/CBGA treatment should create a more challenging environment with which SARS-CoV-2 must contend, reducing the likelihood of escape,” officials behind the study explained, according to the Journal of Natural Products.

CBDA and CBGA’s “virus-neutralizing” capabilities are definitely promising, but researchers said the compounds would most likely have to be consumed in the form of a pill or liquid in order for people to truly experience their benefits, and that’s only if the Biden Administration authorizes the use of cannabis for researchers to begin experimenting with other ways of fighting off the disease.

              • I'd like to see there evidence. Everything I've seen says the 1st booster prevents severe illness from delta & omnicron.

                • When the 2 shot vaccines were rolled out they were typically administered within a 3-4 week window. Turns out they needed more time between the shots, the body was still responding to the 1st shot when the 2nd was given. Imagine getting a booster 1 month after the vaccine, there's no point. But they were in such a rush to get people protection they expedited the process, thats my theory anyway. That in effect wasted the 2nd shot so the 1 booster later on actually served more like the 2nd shot.

When boosters entered the equation early research showed all other things being equal the unvaccinated had the least protection, those vaccinated with 2 shots (or the J&J 1 shot) and people who survived covid had much more protection, and best of all was 2 shots or surviving covid with 1 booster shot. The same research showed a 2nd booster didn't boost anything, that was evidence of booster fatigue. Its kinda like smoking pot or drinking booze when you're already high or drunk - you're just wasting resources.

But these are measuring anti-body responses and that wanes over a few months, hence the boosters. But the boosters have the same problem, they dont last. With Omicron they only last for about 10 weeks and are less effective too. But thats okay, antibodies are a fast short term immune response to invasion but its the long term immune system that revs up to defeat the bug. Omicron is mild and early data shows it infects the bronchial passages much easier than delta but is 10x less effective at infecting the lungs.

Recent numbers I saw for my age group, 60-69

unvaccinated .041% of needing critical care
                  vaccinated .0007%
                  vaccinated w/booster .0004%

I dont know if those are numbers for Omicron or earlier deadlier variants but I wont get a booster for a temporary benefit of .0003%

You'd have to imagine it since it didn't happen.

Okay, okay. The 2nd shot took you from 70->95% immunity with no down sides(with pfizer I think) and something similar with Moderna.

                • And youre not getting your 1ST booster why?

                  • 3 reasons: Omicron is mild, I was vaccinated in August so I probably wouldn't even be up for a booster for a couple more months, and I'd be more interested in a newer booster based on the evolving covid and not the original version. If the situation doesn't change I wont get a booster when eligible.
