Distinction of forum icons (in the main forum listing) for when they have new posts or not.

Maybe the same icons, but grayscale when there are no new posts?

I don't think I can do that - but I'll poke around...

It would be pretty easy to crank out dimmed-read versions of the icons - but there's nowhere to upload alternate icons, and nothing in the Channel Manager to do with unread posts. It's a good idea as user convenience, but way over my tech-level.

Now, Solver could likely dash off a few lines of .css code and make something work, but he'd point out that the last thing Poly needs is more kludges - that would probably break something else.

They were there before you changed them all, buy that could be a change in forum software as well.

Weird thing? I just found, where I you enter the subforum icons, this:


[shrugs] Looks like it's supposed to do the faded-unread thing automatically, but something's not working. THAT icon's a .gif, but most of them are .pngs, so it's not that.

I'm stumped so far.

-Motivated by Heresson's enjoyment of finally having a frog theme -I put him in it back in the Spring, and boy, that took a while to pay off- I altered an image in the Alpha Centauri theme, which markedly improves the whole thing, I think....

I do not get into fights with people on this forum. You do, hence my comment that your comments and behaviour towards others provokes trouble.

This is my second dispute with another member in the 22 years that I have been a member of this forum. That is less than the number of disputes you have had since you returned to this forum some months ago. I do not remember you from before that time however I did notice that your return seemed to provoke displeasure. I suggest you review your behaviour rather than calling me a hypocrit for calling you out.
