They are, but I'm dismayed they're not displaying right for me. The very same files/versions have been installed at AC2 for a year, and they're fine.

I just burned off my whole morning doing tighter crops of the Civ 5 smilies, and uploading same... All those big civs smilies were messy-edged, modt likely for technical reasons to do with saving as .gifs, and it always bothered me that the category ran over to a third row by one, hogging space 5 doesn't deserve. Now, they're all truly round, and definitely look better in the dark themes - I checked. In addition to only taking up two rows now, those two are 4 pixels shorter together, saving you, the User, that much scrolling down to the good ones in the Zoo.

    ---

I've been bored absolutely poopless lately, but I do seem to have enough energy for small jobs. -So this would be a good time to throw me some requests. It strikes me, in particular, that the small selection of Christmas smilies is way better than the nothing-displaying I found when I took on this job roughly two years ago, but it's still not much if you're not a SMACer in December; we probably ought to have more. Requests more than welcome...

I'm working on something right now - and always interested in feedback/suggestions/requests. Still smilies are mostly super-easy; animated takes a little longer, but not hard if I know how I mean to make it look.

I remember, back in the day, starting a few threads, asking new smileys...

Where is the current smiley list?

-Note that I changed the direction of Olaf's shadow to be consistent with the lighting. I pointed out the error to Thunderfall about a year ago, but just try to tell those CFCers anything...

*That was a joke about the banana. I got nothin' 'gainst the 'nana.

Earlier today, I clicked on a what a lurker was browsing at AC2 -I've been parking in Who's Online there between doing anything for over a decade now- and re-read a couple month's worth, in the Let's Make Smilies! thread, of talking a bright 13 year-old through creating smilies/animated .gifs and how he could improve what he'd done. He's the author of the impatient smilie , not me.

-And I wanted to encourage some of that action here. I can point you at some tutorials, and critique/advise your efforts/do tweaks myself if you really want. Lots of fun is to be had animating things -not just tiny cartooning, like smilies, but full-size photographs can have elements animated, even if you can't draw at all- and many a larf -or troll- is to be had that way. I can teach you; I have the technology.

    Any takers?

I made a minor change to Ultimate today. I always thought it was hilarious that I put a panda in an Apolyton theme, and nobody said a thing about it. Because of all the Civ images, especially the big Atlas background, it looked great as the default in the Civ6 folder - but I'd originally designed it as an all-Apolyton theme, and the panda and banana, and even dancing Ming, didn't belong in an on-topic theme. -Plus, too much CivII for a 6(ish) theme.

I consulted self biased, who liked the idea of representing the Civ series in general, so I took about half the II out of the breadcrumbs line background image, and added more 6 units and some four. Then I reduced the whole a bit so the second row wasn't cut off.

-I'll miss the panda and Ming (the banana can go to troll hell), but it's more appropriate to the 6 folder now...

I imagine you'd been in the theme select bottom pull-down previously to my stunt, because of the mobile device display problems you bring up, and then you set it back to Default Style that same way, not "Use forum default" through your profile. Anyone who'd done that was immune to my evil fiddling around...
