Prime BS. The man shot dead attacked another person that just defended his life, he was even a security person - that isn't in an act of terorrism.

Oh, totally forgot Oerdin, but he was just wrong as ususal.

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Interestingly, I am seeing reporting that this man was neither a protestor nor a counter-protestor nor even a counter-counter-protestor but was rather hired security.

I think that he then falls into the same status as the owners/security who shot someone one/were shot by someone in the summer.

I still think there would be less armed security if protestors/counter-protestors/etc were not armed.

I bet I would have been at an Occupy Wall St rally 9 years ago if I had been in the US.

I have never heard of any Antifa rallies. Can you provide links about that?

The media doesn't report on these things correctly. You are acting like a Holocaust denier with this passive-aggressive bull****.

It's criminal that they aren't releasing all the photos. Also that at least in one case the photos were in reverse order. It's like they want to spark a civil war or don't care if they do.

The shooter was a security contractor through Pinkerton, but not an employee, and not licensed.

From photos released: Sprayer advanced on shooter. Shooter motioned towards the group behind or reached to/blocked spray can. Sprayer hit shooter in the face with left hand, probably an open hand slap. Shooter's hat was knocked off, glasses knocked askew.

Following could be in any order from (lack of) available images/video:

                    Sprayer steps back
                    Shooter draws
Sprayer brings left hand to chest
                    Sprayer sprays

After (~1 second) that unknown sequence shooter shoots. Can clearly hear the spray before the shot on the video. Very unlikely shooter could have drawn after the spray.

Police recovered a second gun. No word on who had it.

I think the shooter is toast. Only way he gets off on self defense is if the second gun was the sprayer's, and the shooter can convince the jury he felt the sprayer was going for the gun. Say if the sprayer had the gun in a shoulder holster, shooter had spotted it before the slap, then the sprayers left hand to the chest might look very threatening. Vision impaired due to the hit (adjust for lighting, possible contact with eyes) could play in there as well. Self defense doesn't necessarily rest on whether or not the threat is real, but if a reasonable person in that situation would have believed the threat was real. But if there's no gun on the sprayer then I don't think there's any self defense at play.

The guy that stomped a drivers head in Portland was a security guard. That doesn't mean not a terrorist. If you go out there were these kind of people are "protesting" you expect violence, unless you are stupid. So someone slapped me or maced me so I shot them isn't a defense, unless they were in fact trying to take the gun.

Pro-police protester slapped him. Then he shot at the same time the victim grabbed his mace.

I think arguing over the supposed philosophies and politics of the Michigan groups is ridiculous. They are clearly just a bunch of yahoos who couldn't tell left from right, and who would switch sides for in a heartbeat if it meant they could go out drinking without wearing masks. "Kidnap that b1tch governor? Sounds awesome!" is about as deep as their thought process seems to be.

Appears sprayer did have a shoulder holster on left side. Shooter very well may have saw it if so, some are now claiming the shooter was going for the gun before the slap, instead of for the mace. There is editing going on in the photos to change the way the shooter's hand interacts with the sprayer's vest. I've seen two versions of the same photo, not sure which is the real one.

Shoulder holster is wrong side for a left draw, at least it would be a difficult one. But if vision impaired shooter may have thought it had been drawn already. Sprayer's left hand to chest seems weird. Maybe covering heart? While possible to draw that way it would be dumb as it points the gun at self.

Confounding things further, a baton was hit to ground and then closed right before the spray. Many people speculating the sound from it was the shooter racking his gun. So it's a similar sound. No one considering what this sound might have done to the shooter's or the sprayer's perception of what the other was doing.

It could have literally triggered one or both of them.

Murder 1 seems weird. Unless they have something very damning such as a recording or text of a plot from prior to the incident, it seems an overreaction to an assault, murder 2.

It's a crime of passion. I forget if that's murder 1 or not.
