Over 3,000 *new* COVID-19 deaths in the US today. What silly fake news! Why is poor Donald Trump not King yet? That is the real question.

1% of the US dying in one year would be over 8k a day, so I'll go with that as the peak figure

I think it is hard to guess-
After all the numbers oft active cases in the USA are still on the rise, with no sign of peaking anytime soon.

I also think that there may be jumps in the numbers of deaths per day, thanks to local ICU capacities (in cities or even states) getting overwhelmed by critical CoViD-19 cases (and therefore people die who, with proper treatment, could have survived)

And who can forget the classic...
"That's all I hear about now. That's all I hear. Turn on television—'Covid, Covid, Covid, Covid, Covid, Covid.' A plane goes down. 500 people dead, they don't talk about it," Trump told his supporters at a campaign rally in Lumberton, North Carolina, on October 24th. "Covid, Covid, Covid, Covid.' By the way, on November 4, you won't hear about it anymore,"
Boy did he get that wrong

Yep... all Trump cares about is trying to steal the election and pardon himself, family and friends while Americans continue to die while he does nothing. It is kind of ironic that if he had actually showed some leadership and empathy about the whole situation, he probably would have won in a landslide...

Hey, a record 2,831 Americans died of COVID-19 today.

2nd straight day with over 200K new cases, too.

    Trump? Doesn't care.

Talk about your super spreader events...
Organizers say dozens of swingers have tested positive after attending a sex convention in New Orleans last month.

Maybe he can go into practice with Rand Paul... Did he create his own professional association too? They could have gotten NRA funding. Paul could have developed a COVID gun site that would have allowed a radiologist/marksman to pick off a virus at 100 meters (or about 100 yards for 'Mercans).

With his bg in radiology he should have pushed for rayguns to shoot the virus. So we could have Pfizer guns by now...

Atlas had no prior expertise in infectious diseases or pandemic response before joining the White House. His medical background is in diagnostic radiology, while his bio page at Stanford University’s right-wing Hoover Institution, where he is a senior fellow, states that his focus is on “the impact of government and the private sector on access, quality, pricing, and innovation in health care.”

Despite Atlas’ lack of qualifications, he confidently adopted a contrarian view on the virus early in the pandemic. In April op-eds for The Hill, he argued that “unprecedented isolation policies and near-total economic lockdowns” were not sustainable and that the “appropriate policy” was to “protect the known vulnerable, self-isolate the mildly sick and open most workplaces and small businesses with some prudent large-group precautions.”

    Sounds familiar
