The Crooked House: Britain's 'wonkiest pub' to be sold

A pub thought to be Britain's wonkiest has been put up for sale by its owners.

The Crooked House on Himley Road, near Dudley is one of 61 freehold pubs being sold by Marston's PLC.

It comes as part of a nationwide review by the Wolverhampton-based company, which owns about 1,500 pubs across the UK.

The 18th Century Crooked House has been a popular attraction in the region, with visitors flocking to see the distinctive leaning building.

It was first built in 1765 as a farmhouse, but due to mining in the area during the early 19th Century, one side of the building began to gradually sink.

This week, Marston's announced it had instructed a business property adviser to sell the Crooked House along with seven other of its freehold pubs across the West Midlands.

Nik Antona, chairman of the Campaign for Real Ale, told BBC Radio WM he hoped they do not disappear completely.

"What we're concerned about, is for the properties to remain as pubs," he said.

"The tenants that are in them now have the opportunity to buy them and continue to run them as pubs."

Noel Moffitt, senior director of corporate pubs and restaurants at Christie & Co, which is managing the sale said: "The pub sector has been very resilient over the last few years and has adapted well to the challenges and despite interest in the sector there is a lack of properties on the market."

“The protective effect of this diet against dementia was evident regardless of a person’s genetic risk, and so this is likely to be a beneficial lifestyle choice for people looking to make healthy dietary choices and reduce their risk of dementia.”

Shooter was a 28 year old biological female who identifies as a "he/him". Lots of hysterical social media posts about mythical "trans genocide", lots of stuff about how "he" felt he was really a little boy, strange stuff about wanting to "play with other children". At least if the screen shots on Twitter are to be believed.

Supposedly police have already raided and searched Audrey Hale's home so cops seem to know she was the loonytroon shooter. No word if she/he left a manifesto which would be a treasure trove of crazy, I am sure. Not sure why she went to shoot up her old Christian elementary school but I know the transvestites have worked themselves into a tizzy over Tennessee outlawing minors being present at adult sex shows. It is supposedly "transphobic" and a step towards "trans genocide" if they can't do sex shows for six year olds.

I agree. Maybe she was loaded up on artificial cross sex hormones or something? Such info hasn't yet been released but I really hope it is because there just may be some valuable lessons/data to be learned. We do know the police said this was a targeted attack and we do know the police said the trans mass shooter wrote a manifesto.

Glenn Greenwald is a lefty but he brought up a great point about how we need to examine how politicians and political groups might have motivated this shooter. We see the left constantly trying to do this (and mostly failing) but we really have seen leftists politicians and publications pumping up the lie about "trans genocide" and urging left wing political violence. We even had radical leftist TRAs and Antifa types calling for the murder of Tennessee state reps and senators for outlawing the chemical castration and mutilation of minors under the age of consent.
