I'm on day 5 also, since I usually only have a few beers every Friday.

The doc didn't seem to worried. But here's the deal. There are two types of fatty livers. (also 3 stages and other divisions). The defining difference is "fatty liver because of alcohol or metabolism/nutrition. Alcohol is part of a diet in a way but it is different when the liver has fattu residues because of it. It is way more easy to get rid of it. With the preposition that you quit drinking. It's very simple. Metabolic/nutricional fatty residue is way more difficult to get rid of and could even be genetic. The funny thing is that in both the scanning doc and the regular doc I had to put forth the preosition that "listen guys, maybe it's not nutricional/metabolic. I DO hit the beer and wine..." Their mind didn't go there. (or was it a trick to make me say it.... :hmm:. Anyway. There are other indicators called transaminases (probably something similar in english). These are enzyme indicators of the functionality of the liver. I'm perfectly ok in these which is why I think the doc was not worried. But they way I see it is: God gave me good health. It is an hybris to destroy it

The liver is the only organ that has the ability to completely regenerate itself. If you are familiar with the Prometheus myth? Promytheus, stole fire from Zeus and gave its secret to men. Zeus was angey and he condemned him chained to a mountain. Every day, an eagle would come and eat part of his liver. The next day it would regenerate. And the eagle would come again. Untill the end of time. The ancients really knew almost everything. The liver can regenerate PROVIDED it doesn't scar. Scarring can occur when it has to deal with toxins non stop. That's actually how fat is developed too. Scaring is the next phase. And the next phase which I'm pretty sure it's big problem it's called kirosis. The scarring of the liver is so extensive it can't clear the blood from toxins anymore.

the absence of alcohol is rather displeasing in the sense that it obliges you to stare at life without any lenses, in a raw fashion and this fills you with dread and existential agony. At least it does for me. Not all the time. After all you don't drink ALL the time. It "forces" you be serious to seek other outlets. OTOH the feeling of waking up without a hang over and feeling your organism bursting with energy is very uplifting. In a way it's similar to quiting smoking. The good think about me is that I become dog persistent after one single goal. Very focused and single minded about it. The goal is to stop drinking. I'll do whatever it takes to do that.

You know, it is possible to drink alcohol without waking up with a hangover.“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”
― C.S. Lewis, The Abolition of Man

Quantity yes, quality no. it's obvious, small amounts of alcohol will create smaller amounts of side effect. And "cleaner" drinks, such as raki or vodka will create fewer after maths. You can have an expensive wine and be hugely hang over. A cheap pne and be not so much. I know a thing or two. Cleaness of the drink is responsible for part of the hang over. The other part is of course quanity. "Quality" per se , means nothing. It is the "kind" of drink that has to do with part of the hangover. Now coming to health damage from aalchohol. It is simply the amount of alcohol that you insert to your organism. That's all there is to it. "How" you insert it, makes zero difference.

early on the good effects are starting to show. two kilos of wight lost. Now I'm one kilo only away from optimal weight. And it happened, like that. No effort. Simply because I don't drink. The mind is clear and focused, always. Endurance is higher there is no biochemical escape from reality (so you slowly learn to take it less seriously, maybe) and, really that's one of the best: the bellky is not "full", or bloated. It's a nice feeling. I don't want to "let steam" by drinking moderately. I want to continue to vindicate and feel proud of myself by drinking zero.

I'm on day 6. I have all this month to be a Hikikomori and master my Qi flow.
By January I will be one month sober. Cold turkey, just the way I quit smoking. Thats the thing about us childhood traumatized survivors, struggle becomes easy for us, compared to our childhood. The Wizard of AAHZ

Well, the mind IS very manageable New habits, create new neuropathways. And they entrench themselves in the brain, making those (good or bad) habits easier to do. But you have to plough the brain by new behaviors. I was asked "what are you going to replace (alcoho) with?" With nothing. I'll just won't drink

Day 7. Still going strong. Guess that is 1 week sober for me!
Age didn't creep up on me, it hit me like a hammer. One day I was young and invincible, next day BAM! I have to treat myself like I am made of glass or I will break. The Wizard of AAHZ
