Recently they had ep. 1 of the new Star Trek Academy show as free trial on Amazon. I made the mistake to watch it. IMO the worst ST since the couple mins I watched ST Sec 31 before abandoning it

The ep I watched was mostly annoying cliché-ridden teenie stuff with ST background. Oh yeah, since they're in the far Discovery future, they had a Klingon/JemHadar 1st officer. I'd have preff'ed a Tribble or Moopsy captain
Dunno if younger folks like the kinda "ST highschool" feel, I didn't.
Maybe they should turn this into a full spinoff:
