If you refer to the London attacks ... well, hiding sometimes is smart ... especially if it ensures your survival ...
the bodily strong (and not smart) people who try to fight barehanded against attackers with Machetes may very fast end up dead

Also, smart people (who fear they might get attacked) probably have the money to hire other people (who are not smart but strong) for little money, in order to protect them
They may even have the money to hire a little bit more expensive people with a little bit more balance of smartnesss and bodystrength, who have mastered one/more martial arts styles and/or have been trained as bodyguards

When you out number your enemy 100-1 it isn't smart to hide. It's stupid and cowardly.

So you would have been the first person who would have stood up and attacked the terrorists, in order to motivate he others,
even under the danger that the other panicked people wouldn't have followed you?
This all taking into account that you wouldn't know 99% of the other people in SoHo durign the attacks (and therrefore wouldn't be able to take an educated guess that any of them feels an incliniation to join you in your attack)

And also taking into account the short duration o the attack (from the first incident (the van on the bridge) till the shooting death of the attackers just 8 minutes passed ... meaning that the machete rampage probaby only lasted for 5 minutes ... totally different to the passengers of the plane on 9/11 for example who had a lot of more time to deliberte and asses their situation.
(and also a totally confusing situation, I guess ... many of the people who ran probably didn't even see the attackers themselves but just got told by the rrunning people about an unknown number of terrorists who attacked people)

And last but not least taking into account that all 3 of the attackers carried bomb belts (that later turned out to be fake ... but that wouldn't be something you know in this situation) and you would attack under thhe assumption that they could ignite the bomb every time (thereby killing not only you both, but also other people nearby)

Yes, I would attack. That's what a Christian and a patriot would do to protect innocent people, possibly women and children, to defend my country.

Your attack might have the potential to actually kill innocent people.
As I said, the attackers carried bomb vests.

Now, lets assume they weren't fake but real bomb vests.

You attack the terrorist and the terrorist, seeing that hulking brute walk towards him sees no other solution than to ignite his bomb vest,
thereby killing you, himself, and 4 other women and men who were cowering within a radius of 10m around him, as well as severely wounding another 12 people.

And all this 1.5 minutes before the police arrived who would have been able to shoot him dead without him having a chance to ignite the bomb (as the terrorists weren't clever enough to build a deadmans switch into their vests)

Aside from this, I have to say that someone claiming (over the internet, in the safety of his 4 walls) that he would have attacked, is as believable as someone who claims that he would have been in the resistance in the Third Reich, had he lived at this time

Pehaps you would have attacked ... but perhaps you wold have hidden behind tables, like so many other people
And even if you had attacked, maybe that would have made you victim number 8 in the statistics of the terror attack ... because there would have been a certain chance that his skills in fighting with the Machete might have surpassed your courage by far

Well, in the USA people would have been shot instead of getting attacked by machetes ... thanks to the wide availability of firearms
(and actually, considering the figures I posted earlier this day, people in america would most probably have been more in danger of getting shot by fellow americans, for reasons not related to terrorism, than of getting attacked by terrorists )

I am realist enough to know that there is a huge difference between situations that we imagine in our minds ... and the situations as they turn out to be in reality.

Actually something that Trump also experiences.
In his imagination (before becoming president) he obviously had the image of himself, easly getting his Trumpcare through the congress ..
easily forcing Mexico to pay for the wall and also easily getting his muslim ban enacted.
And finally being able to tackle his beloved tax reform, so that his Trump-Empire would have to pay less
And then getting praised by all, aside maybe from a dwindling heap of democrats.

Instead he faces obstacles over obstacles because people don't act as they are supposed to act according to his imaginations

And not only this ... now, instead of Hillary getting locked up, people surrounding him are under investigation for possible collusion with the russians ... and Comey, this illoyal bastard, dared to not only refuse to swear allegiance to him and not to back his claims about Obamas surveillance of Trump tower, but he even refused to top the Flynn investigation ... and now is about to claim that the request to to the Flynn investigation may be obstruction of justice.

Poor Trump ... the distance between his imagination and reality is obviously too large than to build a bridge between them

                              I am a terrible Maoist

I own lots of land, own and operate a business, employ several people, and haven't revolted against my oppressive capitalist regime here at Apolyton yet.
