I was playing in a golf tournament and 2 of our 4-some were black, one I consider a friend and the other an acquaintance - we all know each other. I watched one of them duff a chip around the green and then I did the same thing. I said, "monkey see, monkey do". Its just a phrase I grew up on and it never referred to black people. I realized after saying it I might have screwed up, I always thought we were all monkeys and that aint an insult, monkeys are cool critters. But black people have reason to resent being compared to monkeys given racial history.
