You can try to poo poo it all you want, but his approval ratings have been declining. So something is "working". Whenever Trump does something stupid or contradicts his promises, the press are quite right in pointing that that out. "It's only because he's made horrible appointments that people don't like him" is hardly doing him a service ... and we all know about his appointments because of the press coverage anyway.

His approval rating will factor into how much congress is willing to go along with him, as they all have to keep an eye on their own re-elections.

Congress will have to work with him to get things done. Nothing is going to upset voters more than nothing getting done. His appointees are making people question whether or not he will stick to his promises. The media criticism has nothing to do with this decline in his approval rating.

No one would even know who his appointees were, or what they stand for, or what they've done, if not for the press that is reporting on them!

There's like 4 people who watch C-SPAN and have the time/energy to research into the history of every public figure. The rest of us get our information from "press" (inc fake news).

We get that information listening to talk radio, reading blogs, social media etc. We get criticism of Trump without even watching CNN listening to NPR.

Yes, talk radio, blogs, and social media are filled with fake news.

I don't believe in idol worship, but to me that is putting something above God. The Pledge isn't that, but if your religion thinks it is then you have the right not to say the Pledge.

My religion says it's bad to blindly trust in a demonstrably unreliable or uncorroborated source.

I'm guessing the Bible isn't part of your religion.

God hasn't let me down yet, but then I don't think I know anything else.

Sure it is. I think some parts of the Bible are great. Widow's mote, good Samaritan, mote and the beam. All are parables that I use in regards to my spiritual beliefs. Also, I believe you are damned if you wear mixed fabrics.

                              And that's a spiritual belief?
