Privately owned hospitals are usually more efficient, private companies can run hospitals just fine, and as the workers are not government employees taxpayers don't have to pay for their salaries or pensions. Now justify the government owning a paper company and a steel mill. They are going to be centers of corruption, abuse, and mismanagement just like the state owned oil company.

Reduce the opportunities for corruption and you will get less corruption.

Oh please. No they aren't. They have all sorts of strikes for low pay (Kaiser anyone?) and have far many more problems than public hospitals. You may not pay for their wages or salaries in private hospitals, but good luck even getting treatment without being driven to bankruptcy.

Oh and privately run hospitals can be poorly run and just as corrupt. Profit is the priority. Not actually providing quality care.

The costs at private care are exuberant. I know someone who was charged $800 for just sitting in a waiting room at a private hospital and another $1,000 for the care itself (which wasn't for anything major).

Proffesizing against universal health care is nothing sort of a death wish for your compatriots. It's sad.

Streamlining, cutting excess and corruption is noble as is having special deals with certain private clinics to aleviate the burden on public infastructure.

Much of Europe is covered by effective public health care systems that have lower costs that the US. You don't know anything about Europe apparently. Private care providers are only for the rich in Europe. Ridiculously expensive and it is debatable if they are any better than public hospitals.
