It isn't up to you to decide who gets to have a civil matter of marriage. Get a grip.
Some things are worth fighting for.

Oh yes. You lost. We won. Game over.

Plus it is a matter of equality and civil marriage. Not religion. Keep your nose out of our business.

His idea of religious freedom is the right to cram his religion down every bodies throats whether they want it or not.

His idea of religious freedom is to not allow other religions to practice their faiths if it goes against his faith.

His idea of religious freedom is freedom only for Catholics.

His idea of religious freedom is BS!

Indeed. His idea of religious freedom is repression and subjugating others to live by his standards.

          Such a vile person.

And based on everyone else here, the worlds worst potential father.

And funny saying that it would be imminent. Probably because his daughter would be so ashamed of her father that she wouldn't tell him till the last minute.

So much for a father's unconditional love.

Maybe if he ever actually becomes a father, he may figure it out.

I would hope so. But based on his posting here, I highly doubt it. Maybe IRL he's less of a douche. But I highly doubt that to. He probably just doesn't do it to people's face.

What amuses me is people still taking BK and Kid seriously, after all those years.

It is impressive, like theatre of absurd (not Kid/BK, but the others presumably "normal" still discussing stuff after 1257th failed attempt).

I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Typical douche.

First I would be jaw dropping from the verification of the existance of the metaphysical (after making sure I'm not hearing voices)

Then I would be very happy to know I'll have a daughter in the future and take the opportunity to ask her what name does she like because it is sometimes tradition to give the name of the grandmother but ok if she doesn't like it, but it's really nice.

Then I'll pretend I'm having a bad transmission and the line is being cut off so as to have time to ponder the actual question

Hmmm, after careful thinking, elok's answer.

Of course I'll be there but not walking her down the aisle. Just there smiling.
She won't be made a pariah of course and she's always a member of the family.

I kind of like the symbolism behind the "giving away" thing.

Up until marriage, it is my task to protect my daughter from the "evil world beyond" and give her an example of how a man should behave.
From then on, her partner will have to do that job... (and he/she'd better do that job properly )

I think of it as if I am passing the care for her well-being to my successor...
