If nothing else, this election demonstrates the way our two-party system has repressed diverse political interests for a very long time; in Europe, Greens, Socialists, and Rabid Reactionary Nationalist ****s tend to have their own little parties, each with their own little share of the electoral pie. Here they were forced for a long time to tie themselves to whichever of the two mainstream parties seemed less odious, and we were spared the news of "crazy racist bastards win ten percent of House of Representatives," since the CRB were forced to accept "representation" by a big boss who would occasionally feed them token scraps just to keep them from abandoning the voting booth entirely. But in 2016, both parties have simultaneously had dissents from that longtime discipline, as the socialist and crypto-fascist wings broke loose. Is anybody else struck by the coincidence?

Bernie is going to rise in the polls as long as it looks like Trump is going to win, because it makes him look more electable. I just think people haven't thought through their support for Trump yet. When they do they will abandon him. That leaves either Cruz or Rubio against Clinton. Rubio is more electable, but it's not at all certain that he could beat Hillary. Cruz will likely get many Trump supporters if Trump should lose them. Hillary is still most likely to win, but she certainly could hurt herself enough to lose to Rubio or Cruz.

When I heard that Palin came out in support of Trump, all I could think of is how well it worked out for McCain.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

This election is friggin' weird. Bernie, Hillary and Trump are all very odd candidates, and it's hard to say which of the three arouses the optimum balance of adoration, hatred, and indifference. I grew up in a household where the word "Republican" was spoken in much the same tones you would use for "smegma omelet," but my mother is now rooting for Rubio out of sheer hatred for Hillary. I haven't asked her opinion on Sanders.

No ****. Trump (of all people!) being adopted by the "No more RINOs!" brigade was my first clue on that front.
